Brilliant place to stay in BusanI came in a group of three female friends. Such lovely staff, great to chat to and gave us great recommendations. The room was lovely, facilities great including free use of the washing machine with all washing liquid etc. It's just off the main strip so perfect for sleeping but stepping out and being by the bars, restaurants and really near the beach. Also right by the tube stop, can't recommend enough! Thanks to the staff for being so helpful!

Great spot in Busan!A lovely little guesthouse just a few minutes from the beach, close to Haeundae bus station and metro. The rooms are not the biggest, as it is often the case in Korea, but they are stylish and well thought out (the comfiest bed we had in Korea, and one of the best showers we EVER had in years of travelling!). My only suggestion would be to add some shelves/hooks in the bathroom, so its easier to store your stuff or hang your clothes. The staff is super friendly and genuinely helpful, happy to assist with any queries. We particularly liked the common spaces, once again very stylish and comfy, with a little kitchen area which can be used for breakfast or for a quick snack, it was nice to come back after a long day of sightseeing and be welcomed by the wonderful smell of coffee... Breakfast is delicious, although the time is quite short (only 1 hour, from 8 to 9) and it makes it a bit busy when cooking your own eggs, but I'm sure they will be able to accommodate you in case of need. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the area. Forget about the skyscrapers and chain hotels of Busan, and remember to take a Polaroid at the end of your stay, to keep as a souvenir or to put on their wall (or both...)!

Best Hostel ever! This Hostel is an excellent place to stay in Busan. Its close to the beach, bars and to metro station just 5 min. walk. The famous bar thursday party is also just 5 min. away. The hostel is very clean (!), calm and comfortable, so that you have a really good sleep. Staff was excellent, extremly attentive and helpfull and you just feel like youre home. Coffee was amazing! Breakfast is served, extremly delicious and different every morning. Definitely a perfect spot to stay!

Your home in Busan! What a great experience I had staying at this cozy and very friendly guesthouse. The owner goes out of his way to make sure you are absolutely comfortable and that all of your needs are being met. I was in a private room and it was very clean with a nice shower. The breakfast was different each morning and the owner was more than accommodating by making something specific to suit my vegetarian diet. Good Day Mate is a great way to start and end your day in lovely Busan. The location is basically perfect. Just off the main road, about 100 metres from the metro. There are loads of restaurants, and bars in the area and the walk to the beach is less than 10 minutes. Overall, great value for the money and I would definitely stay here again.

Everything you expect from a hotel with charm of staying with a friend :)You should stay here! The beds were SO comfortable and bedwarmers were an amazing touch after a long cold day of sightseeing. Ondol in the room and double windows kept us at a comfortable temperature. I really appreciated having a private bathroom and the water gets HOT don't worry! The breakfasts were phenomenal and we looked forward to them every morning, and the rooftop area was perfect spot to do some laundry and facetime family midway through our trip. The location couldn't be better: all we had to do was tell cab drivers Haeundae Station and getting anywhere by bus or metro was a breeze. The downtown beach area is RIGHT THERE so we took advantage of strolling around and enjoying the beach, holiday light festival, restaurants bars and noraebangs and amazing streetfood. The guesthouse is tucked in a cute quiet corner and totally soundproof inside so even when we were ready for bed the happening' neighborhood didn't keep us awake. Also it's next door to daiso! I love daiso! I am NOT an experienced international traveler and am very risk-averse. I don't like camping, sharing rooms, roughing it in any form, and no one describes me as "laid back". Anything not a chain hotel to me sounded risky. BUT I'm SO glad my friend talked me into this, not only was it clean and safe and comfortable and convenient, but we met other travelers, made friends, got great local insights, and had a much more relaxed stay. You can't really get that kind of homey experience in a hotel! As the other reviewers said, the best part of this whole place was our host, Kane. He was so gracious and accommodating and really knowledgeable. He was such a help to total lost newbies in Korea! I saw him personally go out of his way for us and for other guests. If you don't speak Korean (or if you're like me and trying to learn but making a pretty bad mess of it) it is really cool to have a local host who speaks fluent English and Korean that can help you. Also he is an excellent cook :) Not about GoodDayMate but if you reserve your stay through a 3rd party site you might THINK you've pre-paid online but you just reserve the stay through your credit card. You actually pay at check in. This is a little different than American hotels where you pay when you leave on check-out with the card you made the reservation on so it was new to me. Local hosts pay fees for credit card processing so something to keep in mind if you choose to stay in someone's family-owned bed and breakfast. I paid with my American credit card on check-in with no problems at all but next time I will bring cash.
