    Sad and going elsewhere

    I dont actually know where to start having been coming for many years i was very disappointed. The reception staff with the exception of G-had were very rude indeed. Never in all my years have the rooms be so unclean the cleaners were worse than useless being the fact they were only 15 year old boys, dont know how to clean and bathroom, Balcony change beds in the three weeks we stayed we had our top sheet changed twice and towels instead Of be changed were folded back up and put on the shelf in many occasions. Cleaning of the room after 4 pm is ridiculous as we were coming back then to get ready for going out in the evening the latest was 5pm when my daughter was in the shower so obviously they couldnt clean!!! Chairs are so old that the disinter-grated when sitting on them only to find out they had been there for 9 years and not replaced!!! Aircon was not very cold Even after filters had been cleaned. Pool green matting is horrific dread to think what you could catch standing on that. Cleaning in general around the hotel is inadequate considering the current COVID19pandemic leaving dirty plates for days outside rooms and hallways not being cleaned either. Would like to that Mehmet in the restaurant for his assistance and happy face in the morning always cheered me up and sorted out lemon juice for my pancakes which Chef sorted for me (Yasuf one of the only people I knew in the restaurant) very few original staff which is why this hotel is not on my list next year I would suggest looking around for alternatives. Would like to thank Selim and Faik for a great Turkish Bath as usual your both amazing and lovely people. To top it off we couldnt keep on our room even though we have every other year, so had to ask friends if we could use theirs as we were not leaving until 8 in the evening.

    Only thing nice was the view avoid this hotel

    The staff are rude this is defiantly a Turkish hotel if you are not turkish you have no chance they dont care and the food is all Turkish we only ate in the hotel once they say they cater for everyone but this is not true at all we complained and they said it is what it is they only cater for the turkish and seems only the Turks are offered to go all inclusive DO NOT BOOK HERE room was dirty the cleaners only ever changed the beds not cleaned out room

    The good and the bad of this year's visit

    Been going to this hotel for 20 years, but change of management this year so it was a bit different. We have had some great holidays here, and this year was no exception. Our experience was mostly positive but I know this is not the case for other people. There are a few issues that the hotel needs to address. Our main gripe was with plates (some with food on rice/couscous, apple cores, fruit skin etc), glasses and cutlery being left in corridors and stairwells. Even after reporting to reception staff in the early evening, the plates etc were still there next morning. This is a health hazard and attracts vermin and insects we did note that the hotel put notices up in the restaurant and bar about not taking food up to bedrooms but unless this practice is monitored then it will keep happening. Many people not wearing masks when moving around the hotel and not being challenged by hotel staff. We also witnessed on several occasions the lifts being used by more than the 2 people permitted. We were disappointed that there was no pool or beach service, so we happily used Turkuaz Beach next door where we had exceptional service every day. I'm also not sure if there is waiter service in the bar any more, it is geared up to All Inc guests who queue at the bar for their drinks.. I'm not willing to queue up for drinks so again Turkuaz Beach got our business for that. I know other guests complained about lack of cleaning of bedrooms but we didn't experience this, our maid was very good. Our room was cleaned every day, lovely white fluffy towels daily and bedding changed regularly. For anyone who leaves a suitcase or bag at the hotel from year to year, you should be aware that they are not doing this any more. I was told they were going to clear out the storage room not sure what they are doing with people's items so might be worthwhile contacting them if you are affected. It would have been very helpful to be told this when we collected our suitcase soon after arriving, not when we were checking out. We have already booked for next June and September and have been told the hotel will honour our half board basis as we booked before the cut off date of 1st Aug after which they will only be doing All Inc. I fail to understand why you can't still offer half board... its the difference between a blue wristband and a red wristband? We felt the food was the same as in previous years, apart from not being able to self serve, in fact we thought breakfast was better with the inclusion of omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes. Had 3 or 4 evening meals there and enjoyed them, but it was mostly Turkish food which we love. I'm concerned that some guests are saying the hotel doesn't want UK/European guests. If management from hotel read this review, I would be grateful for some personal feedback, so that we can decide whether to come back to Golmar Beach or go elsewhere.

    UK visitors avoid

    Having been a regular visitor to the hotel for over 25 years and twice a year doubt I will ever return. Booked my trip for September 2020 last year and 2 days before we were due to travel Travel Republic cancelled our reservation. We were already having second thoughts due the horror stories and bad reviews given by UK visitors, many like ourselves regular returning customers - however I contacted the hotel who advised not to worry they still had our reservation and we could pay on arrival - cost was an extra £40. We booked a standard room with sea view. On arrival at 23:15pm we were asked to pay £680 and an extra £72 for air con and they then advised we were in room 116 - this is an economy room and the only view is the back of the slides. Explained this was not what we booked and were being charged for ! Eventually spoke to a manger on the phone who advised he may be able to move us the next day or so but the hotel was full so he could not guarantee. I asked if I could pay for one night and if they could not give me the room I had paid for I could decide wether to stay or not, this was not an option, they could not hold my booking unless we paid in full - we chose to lose the booking and booked in elsewhere, fortunately one of Turkish friends came to our rescue - what a lucky escape we had !!! We had friends staying at the hotel who had the same issues with room allocations, we used Turkuaz Beach which was fantastic but looking along at Golmar beach everyone was squashed in like sardines with no regard to social distancing, heard so many complaints about hotel cleanliness, terrible food, plates with food lying in the corridors and cleaning of rooms very poor. Many UK guests staying this year will not return, I have 2 bookings for next year which I will be changing to a different hotel and will be advising Easy Jet of my reasons. We had a lucky escape but so sad to put a negative review on a hotel I loved returning to.

    Gölmar decline

    Been going to Gölmar for many years but the decline this year is dramatic hotel is dirty needs deep clean rooms are not cleaned properly our sheets where not changed while we were there for 11days corridors to rooms dirty and full of dirty dishes very little English spoken no pool or beach service reception staff of hand and rude lifts are like COVID trap disgraceful dirty Sorry to say this will be are last year at the once clean but dated hotel The reason I see for the decline is change over to all inclusive and catering for there Turkish guests rather then the British who have been going for many years
