Golf & Food onlyWhilst staying in the region we decided to have a round of golf at St Junien, we chose a Thursday because we had been advised that lunch is 2 for 1 on the last Thursday of the month. Golf was enjoyable despite the heat (up to 40 degrees), and suggest you hire a buggy as it is very up and down, I have played on better courses and it could do with some TLC, but the views are superb around some of the holes. Once finished into the 19th for a well earned beer, only for the ex pats who had been playing a competition in the morning, were all sitting on stalls around the bar, I could not get to it, I waited patiently, and not a single one of them offered to move to help me get a drink, just rude in my book. Finally 15 minutes or so I got served only after an few words with one of the ex pats who ordered a drink despite me waiting for that time. We sat outside and ordered our food, which was not brilliant a set menu which was nothing to write home about and not something to return for. No deal was offered and when asked about it we were told "no more" by the waitress who was rushed off her feet. The pool looks very nice and the hotel area again looks good.

Was there for 10 nightsGot to know Jane and Flo well, and they treated us very well. We were 4 people in 4 different rooms. Everything was fresh for breakfast, great breads, and 3 course dinner was included in the rate. Can't beat the price or the hospitality. They sure took care of us well. Sad goodbye this morning. One star off because no wifi in rooms and my phone with international roaming also did not get any signal. But really, who needs to work at night? ;)

certainly not 3 starsHotel & restaurant experience ruined a beautiful weekend in peaceful countryside not enough personnel (kindly tired staff), very little maintenance, strange odours, can hear everything in halls and adjescent rooms, condescending/aggressive management (refused to identify himself) who apologized 5 hours later comping 4 glasses of wine. Check-in: staff could not find reservation, spent15 minutes in heat, tired elderly parents waiting in car, to redo with kindly tired receptionist, we wait. Man appears with no introduction and condescendingly, repeatedly insists that he has never heard of hotels.com and that they did not receive reservation - does not bother to check system and complains that I am making a scene. Argument, yelling. Continues to insist that they received nothing. Visibly wants me to leave a fully paid booking. Kindly overworked receptionnist and waitress finds reservation ONLY when I ask how he could have my details if there was not reservaion. Man is still glaring and aggressive. When asked what his problem is, walks up to breath in my face threateningly. Wife shows up starts glaring also. FYI, I am female or Korean origin. Golf-loving women, travelling with elderly parents and/children should avoid hotel at all costs. Not 3 stars and certainly not a classy golf establishement. It's cheap in calm and beautiful countryside but cannot expect competence or service. Don't know if there are better rooms. They gave us the noisiest rooms near restaurant and swimming pool. Not even an extra bed for young child although it was included in booking.

Great golf, lovely setting, superb foodStopped here for 2 days, great golf, the hotel is really nice if you enjoy beautiful views, it was clean and tidy and the staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful. The food was of exceptional quality, breakfast was a little limited how ever i was informed that a new menu was being launched at the end of September. The room was really pleasant and was clean and tidy and a good internet connection. I will definitely return here for a longer break to explore the area in more depth.

Weekend breakMy wife and i selected this hotel on the basis that it was near to Odour sur Glan the main reason we drove there from our home in Auvergne. Strange place.!!!No one on reception had to call many times.Place seemed deserted.felt more like old style social club inside than a smart golf hotel. Receptionist when arrived was very pleasant and gave us a room key.cost of the room 77 euros. , The room was okay nothing special but clean. The chefs assistant came to the room to explain the evenings menu. All they had was Salmon and Carpaccio of beef, seems they don't go shopping for food on a Monday so that's all they had.Decided to go and eat at the Super U instead .The hotel meal would have cost 20 euros not including any wine so thought better of it. Ideal for golf weekend, course looked fine being a golfer myself including buggies. Just the place had the atmosphere of deadness!!!!!!!.Could of been time of year? Pressume owned by an English person. All spoke in English.
