  Bad service

  Although it has a great location in the city center, the staff are very rude, mostly to young people. They seek only to rent their rooms to pilgrims that travel often to Kevelaer. Better options around..

  excellent service, rooms, breakfast

  we stayed there just overnight in between travels. although we arrived late and even much later than first announced, the lady waited for us and let us in. We had to pay straight forward but it's ok. Absolutely no complaints about the room, all was nice and clean and spacious. and the breakfast was so romantic - the restaurant is nicely decorated in the local, german-romantic style, there is a nice hoice of breakfast items and the breakfast was just 5 EUR per person. Really nice and friendly service and no complaints about anything during our stay! Would definitely recommend if you have to stay close to Weeze airport caus busstop is just 10min walk away.

  Nice surroundings

  My husband and I stayed her for 2 nights 2 times. We were on business trip , and this place was convinced to us as to go to Dusseldorf as to Wizz airport. The hotel is in the city center near the Church of Grace, very nice surroundings. The train/bus station located only 10min distance on foot. You could easily go to/from Wizz aiport by taxi (18 EUR). Because we stayed there 2 times, we had a possibility to try two different rooms. At first we got a room on the 4th (attic) floor, for the second time we asked for the room lower because of the hard big luggage we had and we got the room on the 2nd floor. Both times there weren't enough toilets in the room. The room on the 4th floor was tiny place without a balcony, it had only roof windows and a very very creaky wooden floor. But we should say that it was cozier, had a better bath equipment and a real double bed there than the room on 2nd floor. The room on the second floor was bigger, but all furniture was old-fashioned and "tied", and there was a creaky bed that time :) On the other hand the staff on the reception was helpful and breakfast was good enough. We don't know if there are better hotels in Kevelaer, maybe all of them are old. We had a business trip and in general we left satisfied with everything we got.

  Undeserving of your money

  The owner was initially very welcoming and friendly, spoke English quite well. 2 of us were put into a single room which should only have fit 1 single bed. It was way too expensive for what we received. Embarrassing excuse for a makeshift kitchen which was only cleaned when we finally demanded it, poor internet access, no warm feeling. Very old, unclean and poorly furnished.

  Surprisingly good location!

  We ended up in Kevelaer by accident as we arrived late in Weeze airport after a flight delay and the best option was to get a taxi to the nearby town! I really liked the art nouveau building, so I didn't think twice!!! Helpful and kind staff, room was nice and clean, if I have to say a negative thing, a bit noisy in the night as people were in the Kapellenplatz cross the street speaking loudly and laughing, but that was not that bad to ruin the experience! I've learn from the staff of the hotel that Kevelaer is a pilgrimage place with more than a million pilgrims a year!!!!!! I like to visit sometime in the future just for the beauty of the town and I will stay in Goldenen Apfel again!
