  Best I used in Nigeria

  Traveling asa missionary in Nigeria I stay at a lot of very bad hotels. Needed one near the airport at the end of this trip and checked in here. Very comfortable and clean. The restaurant very slow and food so so. Had some issues with staying connected to WiFi. I will be back.

  Ideal for early airport departure

  Stayed here a few weeks ago whilst awaiting flight back to UK. The approach to the hotel does inspire much confidence and neither does the check in area. However, once I have gone up to the room I was pleasantly surprised. The food in the restaurant was fine and the bar had a reasonable selection. The staff were friendly and helpful and best of all I had a good nights sleep and it was only 5 minutes or so from the airport. Recommended and good value

  The fact this hotel is ranked as high as it is is a shock to me. The front desk staff was the nicest thing about this property. Upon being upgraded to a suite. I arrived to my room 308....it only took 30 minutes to find as the elevator buttons and levels were misplaced. Guess they dont maintain elevator inspections. My room number was missing from my room, making it very difficult to locate. Once I finally located it to I hoped how soon my stay would end. The amount of continuous sound outside and inside this hotel makes it impossible to rest in this place. Very loud cars, music, people, street noises is heard 24/7. I wiped down all areas I would be using to discover everything I cleaned had dark black and brown soot. My room chair even had dry blood on the headrest. The bathroom shower glass door had to remain open because of the amount of grim and mold made it almost impossible to close and open. The shower had luke warm water at best. Also, a urinal...I cant begin to describe how disgusting this is. The room had a small refrigerator but this didnt work. The bed was like sleeping on a box spring with how extremely firm it was. The in room cell service and WiFi signal was extremely poor and very slow. Now the most important part....there is ZERO interior security locks for your door. No secondary latch, chain anything of ANY kind. This is an extremely uneasy feeling and in no way should a hotel operate like this. I only used the restaurant for breakfast as it was included in my rate. I spent 5 minutes at breakfast as all the food was either empty of exposed to the elements. Pastries laying out, no coffee, no drinks and had to ask for a bottle water. I did use the bar inside the lobby for a drink, I thought hotels had set prices and didnt know you could bargain like I was in the local bazaar/market place. I ordered a larger Heineken bottled beer, was at first told $15 US, I said no thank you, then told $12, before agreeing upon $5 US which was a great deal for almost a 22oz. The Gym is a hike outside the main building past the swimming pool then into another building where hotel offices are located. Once inside the room has very very outdated and unsafe equipment. 3 treadmills, only one works. Rusted and unsafe weights and one universal machine. Last thing...BRING YOUR ROOM KEY BACK TO THE FRONT DESK WHEN CHECKING OUT!!!! They seem to flip out and demand to have these and will send someone back to your room or charge you. In all I would definitely stay at the new Hilton property by the airport, Sheraton, Renaissance etc if youre looking for quality, amenities and safety but still in a budget.

  Good hotel close to Airport

  This hotel is very conveniently located close t the international and domestic airports and despite its slight drab look from outside the deluxe room was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The bed was perfect as was the air-conditioning in the room. The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of items and the hotel even provides a free drop/pick service from the airports.

  Accomodable room

  This hotel is probably quite nice, however, did not enjoy this hotel. Too many things going on, and everyone wanted their own way. They had it. I focused on what I could manage, which again is my sleep, my eating, and my little sister and cousin, when they chose to stay in one place. My husband could check up on me when he could, but he was limited in his movements as well. Thankful for my family as the three of them kept me sane, and the service of the waiter Benson. For a country that is the most populous in Africa, to have a hotel adjacent to the airport, Golden Tulip worked to the best of their ability and served the people who should be in that hotel. When I left, I did not care how it was chosen to be run, and the ones I favored also in that hotel, I did not even see on my way out. They will safely get back to their destinations. Only hotel I stayed in during my stay in my Fatherland of Nigeria. Golden Tulip, Daalu. (THANK YOU).
