  The staffs wasnt helpful

  I always stayed at Aston every time I visit Balikpapan, but the last time I was there I had the worst experience ever. I was tired after long journey but when I arrived i need to wait until the room is ready. (It states earliest check in is at 2pm but I cant get my room key till 4pm) The reception isnt friendly at all, because I asked many times when the room is ready, they started to ignore me and didnt answer me. And it wasnt that, the room is dirty, less lighting (some lamps didnt work), a little water comes out from shower. This saddens me because i used to enjoy my stay at aston balikpapan, but for now i will find another hotel when I visit balikpapan again.

  Great

  Great Service and Hospitality, the room very comfortable for family, there is a playground for kids, great view from the pool, the location at the centre of the city, also near to the shoping centre, thank you and we will be back soon..

  Good Service

  Love with the ocean and pool view, very nice.. especially when the sun goes down. The staffs are very helpfull Please more attention on damp walls in the room, would be so great if they get fixed very soon.

  Some Highs and Lows

  Had to stay here a couple of nights whilst on business. Hotel looks good, with many facilities. I had a suite which was well equipped and spacious. However I felt that the hotel wasnt as clean and maintained as it should be. There are a lot of loose boards in the boardwalk between the reception, rooms, pool area and beach. The pool water when seen at night was cloudy and looked dirty. Food was good, but a lot of the fried dishes seemed to be swimming in oil when served. The tables outside the restaurant really need deep cleaned as they all felt sticky. The staff were really friendly and efficient, and this made my visit here. Despite my observations, I would still return here, as this would make a great stay if a few minor improvements made.

  A good hotel at best location in Balikpapan

  I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights where long time ago I was there too. The hotel is located at the beach front, nice view to the ocean from the room's window. The breakfast was good, the room is old but quite clean, pitty that the staffs and securityan was not so friendly and helpful. However, due to best location on the beach and good breakfast, I may consider to come back again in the next future.
