  Gold Strike Casino was our first stop on a Dallas to NYC road trip. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and we had a fabulous meal at the Chicago Steak House which is located right off the casino floor. All staff we encountered were professional and courteous.

  ROOM SMELLS LIKE WEED

  Came here with my mom, grandma and a friend, we booked two rooms. The room my grandma was supposed to stay in smelled so bad of marijuana. Management did nothing, housekeeping operator told us just to called the cops. Terrible

  The food!

  Even if you lose the bankroll, the food will comfort you. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Chicago steak house, and an equally impressive breakfast at Sweet Tea. THAT we were not expecting. The food was phenomenal! We grabbed a loaf of banana bread for the road, and it too was fantastic. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms I think are due an update, decor could use a refresh. We throughly enjoyed our stay, and all the safety measures in place were spot on. Hand washing stations, sanitizer, and mask protocols are in place. We stayed during the week, and didnt feel crowded or uncomfortable at all.

  Clean ,safe and fun

  I was very hesitant about going to a casino and spending a couple nights during all the Covid issues . However I have to say I was very impressed with all the precautions gold strike was using to minimize exposure for everyone. Mandatory mask , hand wash stations . Plexiglass shields , ect. And cleaning crew constantly working to wipe down machines and high touch areas . and very clean bathrooms in casino area . Thank you for that !!! Our room was very clean and didnt have any odors of smoke as others have complained about . The beds and pillows very comfortable . I(did bring my own pillow case and sheet ) and we sprayed everything with Lysol and wiped surfaces with Clorox wipes also just for our own peace of mind . But once again , I will say the room and bedding was very clean and smelled fresh when we walked in . We are just germa -phobes , so we cleaned it again . All of the employees were very pleasant and helpful . They all seemed happy with their job and glad to have people there . We were there Thursday thru sat morning . It got a little crowded on Friday night but I still felt safe because of the ability to keep a safe space with all the machines available and plexiglass dividers at tables . As mentioned by others , all the good old timey slots have been replaced by the newer video ones , but sadly that is the trend everywhere . We did find older ones down the road when we checked out some of the other casinos in area . However I had to keep getting help for my machine because it kept locking up in spin mode . Guess thats why they retired them . Anyways . We had a good time and I wouldnt hesitate to Recommend Gold Strike to anyone . The only negative I would say , is in regards to several of the restaurants . We went to the casino buffet on thurday night . Everyone working there was very nice , but the food options that were available were lacking just a bit . I imagine it has to do with Covid causing a shortage on food budget option , but having to pay $28 for what was available I have to say I was very disappointed and would not recommend going there again . The other place we ate at was the sports bar. All the employees were very pleasant and attentive . Steak and fried catfish and fries were very good . The sides ( Mac and cheese ,potatoes au gratin , ) not so much . I paid $54 for the steak dinner. Which considering I was at the casino , not bad price . But too bad the sides were not completely cooked and still cold in the center as if they had been frozen . I would go back another time but I would just order a burger and fry probably . Now for a positive food review . Sweet tea I was pleasantly surprised with my breakfast sandwich .which came with a side of hash browns . Less than $7 . And pretty good coffee . In regards to the slots and how well they played . I had several machines that paid out very well , then as like any other casino there were the machines that just ate up my money and laughed at Me. I was hoping to play the Craps table but the min bet was $25 . When i went to play several times . Something management may want to consider ; It would be nice if there was a lower priced Craps table ( $5 ) , especially on mid week days and weekend mornings , for the Non high rollers who want to play craps and have some fun also. for those that just want to give a try and not go broke playing a couple of rounds while learning the game . Gold Strike is Overall a fun place That is trying its best to keep people safe, yet let us have some fun again . It was a 4 hour drive one way so it wont be going as often as I would like .but I will return

  Nice casino. Great service

  Visited on junket from Detroit end January. Stayed next door horseshoe gold strike casino much nicer, lots modern themed slots, great beverage service from Ashley, ate @ both buffet and sports book, both excellent
