  Clean hotel. The staff was very friendly. Room had a microwave and a small fridge. It did not have a safe. Bowling center was open as was the casino. They are following Covid social distancing protocols.

  The Grille

  Great food! We got here starving and frustrated from being in a four hour car ride. Soon as we showed up we were greeted and seated almost right away. The thing that will keep my family coming back is Sandra/Sandy what a beautiful soul. She turned our night into a great night. She went over the menu with us , so we picked exactly what we wanted.Our food came quick and it was delicious. We definitely will be coming back! Thank you Sandy for being so delightful.

  RV Stay

  We stayed in the RV park/section of the hotel. We stayed during COVID so there were many restrictions. Customer service was very good and truly our only complaint is the size of the slot. There isnt a lot of room and when you place some larger RVs back there, the space fills up quickly. We had our son with us and there was a bowling alley that we were able to enjoy with him. We would return.

  Clean & Affordable Room

  Hotel: The hotel room was no-frills and plain, but it was clean and large which is all you can ask for. If I needed to stay a night in Carson City again, I wouldn't hesitate to rebook at the Gold Dust West. The room came with a king-sized bed, a small refrigerator, microwave and sink. The bathroom had soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion in large pump bottles (i.e., not individually packaged). The bathroom had a large shower, however the water pressure was very high - which is something that I normally love, however the water pressure was so strong, you couldn't even put your face under the water! The bed was fine, a little too "springy" for my taste - you could feel the coils and it was a bit bouncy, but I was able to sleep through the night. I didn't get any pictures of the room/bathroom but the pictures other reviewers posted seem pretty accurate. The room rate comes with free breakfast at the "the Grille" with limited breakfast choices, and was better than your typical free continental breakfast. The front desk workers were friendly and efficient. Casino: The Casino was pretty small, but well maintained. It was quiet on a Saturday night (August 2020). The table games area was pretty small including a few blackjack tables, 3 card poker and one craps table. The Craps table was staffed with just one dealer and was made a half-table using a blocker to close off the other half of the table ($5 minimums 2X odds). The dealers were friendly and easy going.

  Go elsewhere

  Our experience was not positive. Paid for 2 nights- only able to stay for one night. Had trouble checking in because they lost our reservation. Bedding had large black mark on it. Tired looking area. I asked for a late check out - was asked to confirm possiblity in the morning. I called in the morning- looking for only a check out at 12noon or so instead of 11am. Was told, We are completely booked, and you need to get out now-Oh, maybe I should say vacate! wow! so welcoming!
