  Great service

  We have stayed here for our past 3 visits to Taipei as we love the service and the spacious rooms. Having a kitchenette and washing machine are great when traveling with kids. The staff at Gloria is responsive to all our restaurant booking needs. Highly recommend!

  Nice location, clean room, plus service with passion from heart

  The room is simple and clean, with no rare smell from bed and pillow and they are extremely comfortable for a night of good night sleep. I woke up for breakfast at 7 and the employee at the lounge interact with guests friendly with fluent English and Japanese. There was a young couple with a baby, and the staff takes great care to make sure the baby is safe in the lounge, and make the baby happy. I can feel the service from the staff in the lounge that morning (5-Jan-2020) is from his heart with passion, and I will definitely choose Gloria Residence for my next stay in TPE. 7 202015Gloria ResidenceTPE

  Bureacratic Management in the heart of Taipei's Red Light District

  First the location - Lin Sen North Road is the renowned Taipei red light district similar to Soi Patpong of Bangkok and Cheongnyangni or Seoul. If you're looking for action this would be a good area but perhaps not the most suitable for wholesome families to explore after dark. Overall, the Gloria Residence rooms were clean, the front office and housekeeping staff were courteous, and complimentary coffee was available 24 hours a day in the nice quiet basement lounge. Essentially this hotel and the Gloria Prince next door are members of the same Gloria hotel group but the Gloria Residence does not have it's own restaurant or room service thus food and beverage service is handled by the Gloria Prince Hotel next door, which is where the problem lies. it seems that the Gloria Prince charges the Gloria Residence a management fee and the customer gets caught up in accounting journal entries which leaves a bad taste. Moreover, the Gloria Residence sales department seems unmotivated and does not seem to be interested in potential long stay customers. Most hotels offer long stay packages, this one did not.

  Excellent stay

  We stayed in a 2 bed room corner suite at the Gloria Residence over 2 periods in February 2020. Centrally located, very clean and excellent service. We liked the Gloria very much and would definitely stay here again as a family on our next visit to Taipei. The only negative I would say is size, but this is the middle of town so it is a minor compromise as we were not in the room most of the time. Note that their cleaning staff is super thorough, we had a team of 6 everyday, and each of them had an assigned task. It was quite a sight!

  Sexist Hotel Management

  My sister and I stayed at Gloria Residence for about 3 weeks and just checked out today. A couple of hours later, we received a call from Gloria telling us that they found a blood stain on one of the bedsheets. My sister had an accidental leak as she has unusually heavy periods. She didnt have time to wash the bedsheet as we had to check out in a hurry. The hotel staff who called my sister put her on the spot and made her feel extremely embarrassed. She apologized for her menstrual leak and offered to pay for the cleaning fee if theyre unable to wash the blood stain out, but the employee continued to yap on about the stain and said they will call her to charge her for the bedsheet if theyre unable to get the stain out. She feels extremely humiliated by this interaction. A couple of days before checking out, I received a similar call from one of the hotel staff confronting me about a stain on one of the towels. Sometimes, when removing makeup, a little bit of my foundation gets on the face towel. However, they are always easily removable once washed with detergent. I let them know that the makeup stain is not permanent and even offered to wash the towel for them if theyd send it back to my room. They refused and also let me know they would charge me for the towel if theyre unable to wash out the stain. Never in my life have I ever stayed at a hotel that called their guests about every little stain they find on the towels or sheets. Perhaps they should require customers to bring their own towels and bedding, or make it a house rule for guests to wash all hotel linens if they cannot handle regular wear and tear. I feel its also extremely insensitive for the hotel staff to chastise my sister about the stain on her bedsheet knowing that its due to menstruation. This is truly a shame as I really enjoyed staying in the 2-bedroom suite. Despite the unreliable WiFi service that made it very hard to work in my room, I felt at home during these couple of weeks. I would consider returning only if they train their staff to be more considerate towards female guests.
