  Ideal for basic comfort, excellent cleanliness and warm welcome

  If you like basic comfort, quality beds and bedding linen, pristine wet room - look no further. If you prefer over priced cheap luxury, non-entity guest treatment, go elsewhere! Chris, Ally and Barney most welcoming. Would definitely return.

  Warm and welcoming.

  Met with friends for walk around Hembury Woods as half way point between homes of both families. Decided Buckfastleigh good place to find a lunch venue as close to Hembury Woods. All 5 children were hungry as wed walked for couple of hours. Parked the cars and came across The Globe Inn. I popped in to ask if dog friendly and if they were still serving food. Landlord/bar person noticed me as soon as I entered the bar and was friendly and said yes to both my questions. We found a couple of tables then ordered our meals and drinks. Large pot of tea for the adults and squash for the children. The children, adults and dog made themselves very comfortable and before too long our food arrived. Food was freshly made, hot and as described on the menu. Children all choose from childrens menu and there was no waste. Scampi, chips and peas, nuggets, chips and beans. Adults choose whole grain tuna baguette and whole grain cheese and red onion baguette. Baguettes were so fresh and served with a lightly dressed side salad and tortilla chips. This pub has a relaxed welcoming atmosphere and the food was excellent and good value for money. We will definitely visit again when walking in the area.

  We have stayed 3 times now we love it very clean friendly all staff are pleasent and even the regular customers make you feel welcome. Alley and Chris work very hard making sure guests are looked after and breakfast is worth having we will be going to stay there again

  Good room dinner was a bit of a disater

  I desperatly want to give this place 5 stars as the pub was lovley and we a good friendly welcome. On the plus side the room spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfertable. We had a lovley warm welcome and people were great. On the fiip side dinner was a huge let down. We understand that Covid 19 has forced some changes and have come to accept reduced menu's but the menu here consited of 4 burgers and a selecton of sandwiches. This is not advertised anywhere also we had booked a table independantly and were not told then either. Had we know this we would not have booked. In addition the food was streight out of a box, cheep burger, cheeper bun. These facts need advertising. Breakfast was ok but again cheep sausages cheep bread. I write this with a bit of pain as the pub and the people were great but the menu and the meal were the worst i have had in a long time.

  Yum!

  Myself and two daughters visited for lunch last week, lovely atmosphere, brilliant service and the food was delicious! My daughter has recently moved to Buckfastleigh so we will certainly be visiting this charming place again . Thank you very much
