Very near to the beach and harborI liked the place a lot even if the rooms have a bit of a 70s flair and definitely never have been refurbished since then. Everything is clean and staff is friendly. Breakfast buffet is good. Im there for sailing and therefore the location near harbor and beach is ideal, but if I would not do I most probably would not chose the place. But it fits my purpose very well now.

Excellent ServiceThis is a charming hotel run by a couple who could not be more friendly or service oriented. Nothing was too much trouble. Whilst the decor in Reception was a bit dated, the room itself was modern, colourful and comfortable with plenty of room. The restaurant serves evening meals if one books it. Breakfast was very good. The scrambled eggs and bacon were really well cooked, and there was a variety of choices of cereals, mini pastries, cheeses and breads. The four stars is only because the reception area has glass shelves that are a bit kitsch, with sea shells and brochures advertising their spa service. It just needs modernising. The lift is also very intimate and could not fit more than three people in close proximity to each other, and if there is a suitcase then really only two. There is a wonderful sun deck on their top floor with a sea view on one side. There is also a massage and hot stone spa which I will avail myself of next time Im there. So yes, we will be returning. Ostend itself is wonderful. Its very clean, with a vast, nice sandy beach, and shops and restaurants galore. Cheeses, chocolates and cold meats did not disappoint, and were a real treat to the eye. The fish market stalls served delicious pots of langoustine, mussels and whelks. I passed on the snails. There is also a lovely long promenade that you can walk along, and the locals were out in force on Saturday morning, promenading with their families and dogs. Bicycles abound too, but if you do ride a bike there, bear in mind that there are lots of cobble stoned roads. Walking along the sea front, eating an ice cream, taking in the sites of the street vendors, and the harbour on one side, and restaurants, waffle houses, coffee shops and the magnificent Church of St Peter and Paul was an absolute pleasure. In the evening it was also a pleasure to walk along the front with a fun street splash fountain all lit up, and when you turn and face the restaurants and coffee shops, they are glowing with ambient lighting, looking cosy and welcoming, and buzzing with people. Highly recommend a visit, and easy to get to with reliable public transport.

Céntrico. Familiar.

Pit stop along the coastMy wife and I were looking for a nice place to stay along the coast and found this gem. Place was very nice and clean. Had to pay for parking, which was the only negative for this place. Nice spa on site too!

Just one word "SPARKLING"Just arrived home after 4 great nights at the Glenmore Hotel with a group of friends. Never stopped here before although we have been going to Ostend for years. This place is a gem spotless, immaculate and SPARKLES from the polished glass front doors to the well lit reception and right through the hotel. I defy Hercule Poirot himself to find a fingerprint. The hotel is yards from the seafront and a very short walk to the bars and shops and you can hear the promenade fountains from your room, at the front of the hotel are two car charging bays, disabled parking and limited parking bays. We were made very welcome by the long standing owners who have been here 35 years, they like the hotel are dapper and sparkle. The breakfast room on the ground floor is beautifully decorated and is a delight. The breakfast is amazing with a hard to beat array of quality food, apart from the usual items smoked salmon and crab salad are included. Tea, coffee and milk are served in silver pots to complete the experience, but there's more on Sunday morning we were served a free glass of champagne with breakfast beat that !!!. The rooms are good and well maintained as is the whole hotel and a credit to the owners and staff. On our final morning the owner gave us bottled water for our journey. Nothing is too much trouble for there guests. I highly recommend the Glenmore and will be back.
