  Magical Mendocino weekend at Glendeven

  My wife & I had a magnificent weekend at the Glendeven Inn in Little River/Mendocino California. The location is stunning with access to beautiful trails to explore the Mendocino Headlands Park. The inn is very charming with chicken coops and llamas. We loved the attention to details from the moment you arrive and see your name on the parking space to breakfast baskets under new health protocols. Mendocino is magical and the Glendeven Inn made it even more so.

  Lovely, peaceful getaway.

  Is this place is a gym. They pay attention to detail, they make sure that you are feeling welcome and comfortable at their place, and they seek extended ways to make sure you feel at home. They have a nice area where you can pet llamas, and they also have a nice place where you can feed chickens, which makes you feel like youre in a place in another country and not necessarily the United States. There is a nice beach we can walk up to and enjoy the sunrise and feel like you are in a place somewhere in France. They have a delicious breakfast, and I would come back here as often as I could.

  The perfect respite

  Numerous visits to Glendeven over the years have proven to be the perfect respite whether from the trials and tribulations of parenthood, celebrating anniversaries, or, as in this most recent visit, marking major life changes. Each visit has been uniquely special because this is a uniquely special place. We love walking the grounds and noticing the many thoughtful touches that have been incorporated into the property. This is a place that is cared for by people who care - stewards of the land, of the animals, and of the guests who come to visit. We love staying at Glendeven and have made a promise to ourselves to stay no less than three nights. A day of beachcombing and bluff strolling, a day of hiking in the woods, and plenty of time to enjoy the peace and quiet of our favorite room: Briar Rose. Thank you, Glendeven, until next time!

  Great getaway spot

  My husband and I stayed here after our friends recommended it to us. It was a solid recommendation. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, a freshly prepared breakfast every morning, the chickens, and the adjacent state park hiking trails. The wood burning fireplace was lovely to have every night (especially during covid when our dinners out were early and brief). The view from the Briar Rose room was spectacular. The room also was quite private with its own outside entrance, and also has a nice balcony to look at the llamas and the ocean in the distance. We will happily return.

  Fantastic stay in a great location!

  Glendeven was truly excellent for a long weekend stay near Mendocino. A great breakfast was brought to the room each morning in a COVID-safe way. It was great to have a delicious breakfast to look forward to each morning. After hours check in was smooth and thoughtful. There was a small bottle of wine included in the check in package, which was a great touch for welcoming guests. All of the staff were friendly and helpful when we interacted over the weekend. You could tell they really cared about your stay. The location allows for quick access to Mendocino and the rest of the coast. We used it as a launch pad to check out Avenue of the Giants, which was about 2.5 hours north - great day trip. Llamas and chickens on premises were fun to check out. Additionally, the Tesla chargers were very convenient to enable travel along the coast. The only noticeable con was how loudly footsteps above our room at the Inn were heard below, but this would depend on the guests above. The room itself was fantastic, from the comfortable bed & couch to the fireplace to the table right next to the window for natural light at breakfast. Could also see the ocean from the room, which was awesome. Overall, would highly recommend and would return.
