  Estupenda atención en un hotelito con lo necesario

  La atención de los dueños fué de primera, estuvieron al tanto de que tuviéramos todo en orden. Nos dieron un cuarto en el ático que no estuvo tan bueno, pero para pasar una sola noche estuvo suficiente. Hicimos un paseo en la tarde por unos caminitos espectaculares. El pueblo en donde está es hermosl.

  Impressed!

  We stayed for 2 nights as a small break as we were due to go on a Cruise which was cancelled due to Covid. On the morning of arrival Ian called to find out an approximate arrival time, he also text with his phone number incase we had to get in contact. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door with a big smile and a warm welcome, we were upgraded from a double to a king room which was massively appreciated. Ian made sure we had everything we needed in a comfortable friendly chat in the lounge and offered recommendations, I have been to Windermere lots so knew where I was going but it is such a nice touch to get personal recommendations and can imagine how handy this is for travellers who have never been before. We stayed in room 3 which was large, good storage, small fridge in the wardrobe and had everything you could possibly need from shampoo to bathrobes. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and hot, good sized portion to start off the day! The fresh fruit was also beautiful. The whole guesthouse was spotless. It is within walking distance to windermere town and bowness, I did struggle with the hill on the way back up to the guesthouse (Im 8 months pregnant) so used the car a bit more than expected but if I didnt have to waddle up the hill it would have been no bother at all! Ian was a great host, very attentive, made sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable! It felt like visiting an old friend and nothing was too much trouble. I came with high expectations after having family stay here about 5 years ago with the old owners and I was definitely not disappointed. Would highly recommend as a clean, comfortable, friendly base within walking distance to the town and lake side. Thanks Ian :)

  Fantastic.

  From the moment you walk in the place,its home. A hearty welcome from Ian set the tone for a really great stay. Our room was lovely,with plenty of room for clothes,fridge with ironing facilities if needed. Shower room is sparkling clean with high quality units. As mentioned elsewhere,breakfasts are super with chef Ian providing the best 'all English' in town. Drinks are provided in your room and an honesty system in place where a bottle of wine,beer or soft drinks available in the rest room . The Glencree is a five minute walk to Windermere and 10 minute to Bowness. I highly recommend you to stay in the Glencree, you will not regret it.

  Fabulous property

  Stayed here for 4 nights , Ian couldnt have been more helpful , provided recommendations for restaurants and walks. Room was beautiful , as was the breakfast. Fantastic value for money , would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Lesley

  Fantastic weekend stay

  My husband and I stayed at the Glencree for 2 nights. We have had a holiday abroad cancelled at very short notice due to Covid-19 so booked this at the very last minute . Ian made sure our stay was perfect , we had a beautiful room which was very clean and looked great . The hotel its self is in a great location 10 mins walk into Windermere and 10 minutes walk into Bowness. Ian cooked us a fantastic breakfast and was great at giving advice about the local area, nothing was too much trouble . We would definitely stay at the glencree again .
