  Lovely overnight stay

  Despite living only 3 miles from this hotel, it was our first stay and I can't fault it at all! Afternoon tea was delicious with a good selection of savoury and sweet treats. The evening meal was a real highlight - both starters were delicious, the steaks were superb and the dessert was too. We stayed in a standard room and it was perfectly comfortable and nice and quiet. The staff are very welcoming and made every effort to make our stay special, despite the COVID situation. It was a lovely overnight stay and we'll definitely be back!

  The perfect wedding

  So yesterday, we got married at the Glen Yr Afon House Hotel. Even in the circumstances with Covid and the associated safety measures etc, the day was utterly perfect and I honestly would not have a changed a thing. The staff were amazing from start to finish and I honestly felt like royalty for the duration of my stay, not just the wedding itself. They couldnt do enough to make our stay enjoyable and create the perfect wedding day. I cant thank Carol (the wedding coordinator) enough. She made my life so easy and organised everything!!! The decor, flowers and room layouts were just perfect. Even with social distancing and limited numbers, the rooms and table set ups were so well done that I didnt even notice that the room wasnt filled with 60-70 people as we may have otherwise have planned. It felt every inch like any other wedding outside of the current times. As well as Carol, I would like to thank every single member of staff who made our day so perfect. In particular Sulthan, Alex and Charlotte who ensured everything ran smoothly and were incredibly efficient. To every other member of staff who made our day so perfect, thank you! And lastly - the food. Every single one of our guests commented on how AMAZING the food was. Every dish was just delicious and my children were catered for completely with their favourite meals too. I could go on forever about how amazing our day was but I will just summarise by saying that if youre thinking of booking this hotel for a wedding or even a meal or weekend stay then definitely do it.   Relaxing stay

  We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing week here. Very comfortable, traditional hotel with friendly and professional staff. Spotlessly clean and covid safety taken seriously. Top notch breakfast and a tasty afternoon tea. Nice room with four poster bed. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff and we would strongly recommend anyone looking to visit Usk to stay here. We had a stellar time

  Afternoon tea delight

  A wonderful welcome on a cold grey day ...afternoon tea in safe and cosy surroundings ..delicious sandwiches cream/jam scones and exquisite cakes on beautiful delicate china...at an uncertain and unprecedented time it was a lovely couple of hours feeling well and truly spoilt ..thank you Glen-yr-Afon....

  Another Amazing stay

  This place is such a wonderful place to stay. The staff are always so welcoming and I love the fact they tend to be long term. At dinner we've had the same waiter for 10 years and he's amazing. The rooms are always lovely and clean and even though set as it should be as a Manor house, the beds don't feel aged, very comfortable. We always do the romantic break, including afternoon tea and dinner and our compliments are always with the chef as the food is always outstanding. The selection you have for breakfast again is just great. A fry up will be done fresh to order and from the top quality ingredients. Can't wait for lockdown to end as itching for a night away..
