  Full of character and charm

  Just come home from a national holidays turkey and tinsel overnight stay at the glen Usk. I read the reviews before we went and was aware that the hotel was a little shabby in places . It was a delight. Full of character and charm. High ceilings , cornices, wrought iron covered portico. Wonderful staff..Couldn't do enough for us. Lovely home cooked food. Yes there were some things that needed a little attention but the ambience of the place more than made up for it. Thanks to all the hard working staff. Will definitely be back again xx

  Little trip away for my birthday

  We went on a one night trip with national holidays to this hotel , a few bad reviews didn't put us off and we were glad it didn't, asked for a low floor and we got room one on the ground floor ,pleased with room slightly tired but have stopped in a lot worse , enjoyed the music entertainment, Christmas evening meal was good and plenty of it , breakfast also very good .

  30 quid absolute bargain

  30 quid for bed and breakfast, room was basic and decor old but for the price it was perfect for me. Staff knew I was in a rush in the morning and breakfast was hot, tasty and served very quickly despite them having a large coach party in before me. Spot on for a quick overnighter

  In desperate need of renovation

  Spent Christmas here booked through Grand UK Holidays who own the hotel. First impressions from outside were not good. Reception/lounge and restaurant looked impressive but once past these areas it was awful. Threadbare carpets, wallpaper shabby and worn, ceilings disgraceful, heating not working properly, broken window in our room, the list is endless. Not what you would expect for the price we paid. Many guests from our coach party requested room changes. The restaurant/bar staff were very friendly and compliments must go to the chef as the food was excellent, entertainment was also very good. Hotel In desperate need of a complete renovation.

  New year break

  My husband and I stopped her for new year. We had a lovely time this hotel maybe a little bit rundown and needs a few pounds spending on it but i will say the staff there were lovely the food was excellent and the standard of health and hygiene were very good. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
