    Espectacular

Parada obligatoria, situación increíble, comida espectacular y servicio exquisito. Además recomendamos bañarse en el impresionante lago junto al hotel, una experiencia única y que sin duda repetiría. Las habitaciones antiguas pero muy limpias y acogedoras.

Location, location, location ... and, location

Considering its remoteness, this hotel/motel is very good. It has a captive audience, so to speak, but still provides good service. The rooms are small and very tired, but I read from the management reply below that they are refurbishing. The carpets should definitely go, and be replaced with something more easily washable. Its very difficult not to bring in some of that red dust. But everything in the room worked, nice hot shower. No TV or a WiFi. We visited in the summer, so the complex was very quiet. Yet still the dinner was delicious. We had the stuffed mushrooms, and they really were excellent. I have no idea how they run a first class restaurant in the middle of nowhere. It was also very cheerful and friendly. We all sat and watched the Melbourne tennis and had a good chat with a group of visiting Austrians. The wines were good, but do choose something opened that day, or that needs to be opened. Otherwise, with so few visitors in the summer, they sit around for too long. Breakfast was excellent. We just had the continental, but you could order all the usual hot stuff to be freshly cooked. Excellent. Coffee and tea on tap. Theres a nice seating area outside the restaurant, with a view of the river and cliffs, but we didnt linger as we were plagued by the ubiquitous bush flies. Theres a little shop selling essentials, such as hats and all sorts of anti fly gear!

    Revisiting after 12 years

Having camped here previously it was good to have an en suite lodge room! Initially given no. 19 we moved to no. 22 because of an unpleasant odour. We were well looked after by the staff, Irish Marian in particular, but unfortunately the flies stopped us venturing too far outside or trying the swimming pool. The evening meal and breakfast served in the bar were both good and set us up for the next stage of our journey. I understand that the Lodge is under different management than in 2007 and may be due for refurbishment.

Lovely place to stay while exploring West Macs

Glen Helen Homestead is an idyllic place to stay. We stayed during a time when they have very few staff and just before the NT borders reopened. The rooms are excellent and very comfortable. The food was a bit limited as the staff were having a night off however they provided steaks and hamburgers along with all the trimmings so we could cook in the camp kitchen. Excellent coffee and supplies available from the bar.

Not bad in the middle of nowhere!

Stayed at Glen Helen Lodge campground for 1 night. The powered campsites are quite small & no shade. Good ammenities at least, nice deck/dining/bar area & friendly staff. Plenty flies during our visit so a net is required. Nice short walk to Glen Helen Gorge.
