  What to say?

  The place is at a great spot, right by the station, a few hundred yards or so from downtown Kufstein, but that's about it. When I registered I got about all the wrong information one could think of, was lied about the noise, and the house was smelly, smokers of course. Too bad. Cancelling was impossible. The breakfast was so international superficial I would give it to my stepmother if I had one. Some rooms are indeed spacious as others have mentions, the showers are just fine, but in the end the noise coming from outside the hotel into the sleeping room was and is awful. I won't go back.

  quaint convenient hotel

  right opposite the railway station, this grand old building is just a couple of minutes walk away to the charming old town centre over the bridge or seconds from the train station and there is also free parking out front making it a convenient stop on the main highway route from Germany into the central Austrian mountains. The high rooms out back are the quietest and I thought we were getting a family room but it was more like an entire multi-room apartment with a bedroom with attached sitting room for us, a completely separate room for our daughter, a full kitchen with sitting places for dinner and separate bathroom and even an entrance lobby - what great value. The was also a really nice included breakfast and the young lady that served us was so friendly and nice it was like she was a part owner rather than just staff. Would highly recommend for both charm and value - note how the staircase is real hand cut stone blocks with the centre portions worn smooth and down by a hundred years of foot traffic, they dont make buildings like this anymore!

  All the basics .... plus more

  Hotel Gisela is conveniently located adjacent to the train station in Kufstein. Its walking distance to the fortress, shopping , restaurants and the community pool. There is a beautiful swimming lake and hiking nearby as well. If you're looking for a place with great convenience and the nicest owners this is it. Rooms are incredibly clean and the place is very well kept.

  Great Location - Very Friendly

  This was my first visit to Kufstein, I felt it was a good place to stop for a couple of days, before my next destination. I must confess that I was worried that I would not be there in time to check in, on account of a delayed train at Rosenheim. Not to worry. Hotel Gisela is a very clean and tidy hotel. It is situated directly opposite from the train station. Ideal for people that have difficulty in walking. You cannot fail to see it. The receptionist was a polite, friendly very helpful young lady. The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of room for my two bags. However there was not a wardrobe, only a rack with hangers. The bathroom was well furnished and all the facilities worked well. My only criticism is the shower, as it might be a bit difficult for an extremely large person to get in and out of, due to the gap between the sliding doors when fully open. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice with regards to cereals, breads, cheese etc. The coffee was self service. I prefer to have a pot of it on my table. Nevertheless, breakfast was included in the price. My room did face the station, which at times was a little noisy, but it did not prevent me from sleeping. Access to the town is just a short walk across the River Inn.

  Pretty hotel right in front of railway station. Very close ( 500 my ) to city Centre and to the Festung landmark. Comfy rooms and old luxury style stairs ( looks like being in Versailles palace). Friendly staff and adequate breakfast.
