Quiet and peacefulGreat little small hotel (11 rooms) in a top spot just over the road from the beach and very close to a number of bars and restaurants and a short walk to Rodney Bay shops etc. Would certainly recommend Sea Grapes as a restaurant/bar, Razmataz for brilliant Indian food and also the Yacht Club which is a very relaxed and welcoming place to enjoy a drink at sunset. It is also very close to Spinnakers bar which was, to be honest, quite disappointing and overpriced so I would suggest you give that one a miss. The hotel has a relaxed and peaceful vibe. Small but perfectly formed! Our room ( Room 5 on the first floor overlooking the pool) was huge. Very spacious with a high ceiling, large living space, large comfortable bed, huge bathroom, little kitchen area with kettle and fridge and a lovely balcony. The pool area is rather small but perfect for the job and the gardens are very tropical and well maintained. The room was tidied and made up on a daily basis without fail and beach/pool towels were available at reception. There are a few slight negatives - rarely had hot water in the bathroom and it was lukewarm at best; the breakfast is fairly minimal and slightly disappointing; we had to move the hammock on the balcony to free up space and the internet was a bit hit and miss. Very small issues for us but just to let you know. All in all, you couldn't beat Ginger Lilly for value, location or the friendly and welcoming staff. Would happily stay again.

Fantastic placeGreat boutique hotel, large rooms all with A/C , firm beds, very friendly staff. The included continental breakfast is very good and includes tea, juice or coffee, toast and croissants, fruit. Real nice secluded pool with lots of trees for shade.

Quaint quick stop before sailing. The Ginger Lily is clean, small and quiet but for the frogs, if it rains and then you will be lulled to sleep by their chirp. It is located in a safe area and a quick step across a parking lot to Reduit Beach where there are many restaurants and activities to choose from. Breakfast is not consistent. It advertised that eggs were available for an additional fee. Toast yogurt fruit coffee or tea was basically all that was available. The house cleaning staff is very helpful and kind. There are 2 cats that are also very friendly. I'll definitely be back and will walk across the parking lot to Spinnakers for breakfast.

A lovely, very clean, small hotel in an excellent locationWe stayed here for a week in February. What a brilliant location, literally a 2 minute walk from Reduit Beach & Spinnakers bar & restaurant. Also it is about 10 mins stroll from bars, restaurants & 2 shopping malls. The hotel is very clean & the ladies that work there do a great job. They are very pleasant & cheerful. The room we had on the 2nd floor (Hibiscus), was very spacious with a huge bathroom & shower. The bed was very comfortable. There is a safety deposit box for which you have to pay a refundable deposit & beach towels can be collected from reception each day. The only reason that I would not award 5 stars, is because the breakfast is not the best. If you are OK with the same every day then it is not a concern but with the variety of fresh fruit that is available in St Lucia, I found it disappointing to have the same every day.Even the toast is thin sliced white bread, not the best. I should add that you can pay extra for eggs, bacon & sausage if you wish. However, for cleanliness & the excellent location, I would definitely return to Ginger Lily.

Beware if your're not a "Preferred Customer"!We booked a number of rooms at a number of hotels for guests attending our wedding in St. Lucia. My family were relatively happy for the first part of their stay. However, I was shocked when I visited my family there one day during our stay. When I got there I found my elderly aunts (in their 80s and 70s) moving all their belongings from their rooms to two rooms across the courtyard (in the blazing midday sun). I found out that they had been told another customer had booked and they were told they had to give up their rooms for the other customer. I went to speak to the lady on the desk. She confirmed this was the case. She was dismissive and rude. I told her this treatment of my family was unacceptable and I asked why the other customers who'd booked couldn't stay in other rooms. She told me that they usually stayed in the same rooms and wanted those rooms. I pointed out that this wasn't fair and asked why the other customers' wishes were being prioritised to the disadvantage of my aunts - she told me that they were regular customers and were more important. Words cannot express my shock. I asked if she could contact her senior managers - she told me that she couldn't because it was "the Sabbath" (it was a Sunday), I asked if she was saying that management were not ever available on a Sabbath; she told me that was the case. I asked if anyone was going to help my elderly parents repeatedly lug all their belongings across the courtyard. She told me she might be able to find someone from housekeeping. This help never transpired. Finally, I asked if my aunts would receive some sort of compensation for the massive inconvenience - she laughed at me and then asked why should they receive any compensation. She then said "they haven't paid us! They paid Expedia!". I know that every person reading this review will immediately see that this is a ridiculous argument and would only have any validity if Ginger Lily were letting Expedia keep all the payment for their rooms and allowed people to stay for free. This is patently not the case. In summary, we were disgusted by the treatment of my family, paying customers, and the hostility of the lady on reception I spoke to. This had a negative impact on their holiday and we felt bad for booking them into this hotel. I'm sure if you are one of these "preferred" customers she referred to, then the service you receive will be amazing. If not, there is the risk that you won't be valued in the same way and the treatment you receive will reflect this. In terms of the hotel, the photos don't really reflect the hotel. The pool certainly didn't look like that, it was full of debris and nobody in their right mind would swim in it. It's a place to stay. Better service would make for a better experience though.
