3 nights stay with girlfriend and dogFirst visit to the lakes. After debating various places to stay that were dog friendly, we decided on the Gilpin Bridge Inn. Location was OK to visit Kendal, Windermere and Ambleside. Room was pretty small but manageable. WIFI was hitty missy. Heater was supplied for room on request. Although room was not inspected each day, staff were very helpful if we needed new towels etc. We dined in the restaurant 2 of the 3 nights and the food was very nice. Enjoyed a very nice pint or 3 of budweiser on tap and a few games of pool as well. The complimentary breakfasts were excellent!! We were given a list of what we wanted for breakfast and the time we wanted it. As soon as we sat down, the breakfast was in front of us! Would stay again! Thanks for an enjoyable few days.

Great stayExpected average and I was very pleased. The room was perfect, the shower was brand new and the whole room/toilet was immaculate! I would stay again. The main courses where fantastic, great home made food highly recommend the chicken and chorizo spaghetti. Avoid at all costs the prawns and calamari starter, i felt like I had been pic pocketed, was day light robbery. Overall - great stay, great food - crap calamari

Heart warming mealMyself , husband and son visited the Gilpin on Thursday afternoon. I felt very comfortable with the COVID measures that had been put in place. The tables were well spaced apart and a one way system was in place. The meal was excellent. I had lambs liver and mash from the specials board. My soon had lamb Henry and my husband had farm house chicken. All meals were of a good portion size and cooked well. We all really enjoyed our meals. I would definitely eat here again next time I am on holiday in the lakes.

Fantastic home made pie of the dayI met up with my sister and our better halves and chose the Gilpin Bridge Inn as it was half way between us. Have to say the food and service were great. Three of us went for the home made pie of the day (meat and potato) which was absolutely delicious, the other went for the home made spaghetti bolognese, which went down just as good. The only disappointment was that the chips weren't home made, if they had, it would have been a 5. Simple, very tasty food.
