  Overnight stay with friends

  Chose this hotel as it was close to the venue THE DRILL PUB for my mates birthday. From the outside I was a bit dubious as it looked like it needed an overhaul, however inside was fairly basic but the place was clean. The reception area was small but well organised. Small bar area and eating area for breakfast all very clean. We were shown to our room which was quite small but clean. Had a lovely large super king bed and the duvet was warm enough. Pillows could do with being a bit more substantial but we found some extra pillows on top of the wardrobe so we doubled up. Bathroom was very well presented and clean and modern. Tv and drink facilities were good and the menu for food was available. Breakfast was good and service was good so all in all made for a pleasant stay. Would recommend this hotel to friends.

  Overnight stay for memorial gathering in the hotel.

  The professionalism and kindness extended by the staff was second to none. Our upgraded accomodation was spacious and spotless. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food both at breakfast and for our gathering was wonderful The authentic Italian delicacies were delicious. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough

  Refused at the door

  Just tried to book a room at the Gidea Park Hotel for myself and my wife, both NHS key workers, and were rudely refused a room over the front door intercom. We were told 'key workers only' to which we replied that we were and we had the documentation to prove it. We were then told that it was too late at night (2am) to which we replied we had just finished our shift and were just told 'no, go away'! I could not believe it, we are now driving around in the cold and rain looking for somewhere else to stay. We only arrived in the area in the morning, went straight to work and were looking to stay for the next 2 weeks, cannot believe how we were spoken to

  Very bad experience

  I stayed at the Gidea Park just before the lockdown. My room was booked by the company and the company credit card details were given. I got to Gidea Park at around 8pm after a long hard day. I was told i had to pay for the room. I dont have the company credit card. The office was shut. I was told they dont take remote payment. Lucky i had my own card or i would have been sleeping in the car. The room was small and underground. Breakfast was rubbish. I will not be back. I very bad experience.

  absolutly awful

  the room stunk and i could find hairs everywhere. i also went down for breakfast got a completly different order to what i ordered, when i complained they told me that i was being "picky" but i ordered full english and ended up getting eggs with avocado on toast. absolutly disgusting. the staff here are rude and i would avoid at all costs. would put 0 stars if possible.
