    Clean & friendly

Perfectly fine little spot, but for the money you could find a little cabin on the beach. As a solo traveller - it was too far from the beach and not a social spot. It's on the main road so you hear traffic and there must be a mosque close by because the call to prayer sirens woke me at 5 AM. The breakfast was not great. That said, it was clean, new bathrooms, good showers and the bed was comfy.

Hotel asks for your passports as deposit on room key beware

I would not recommend this hotel unless you are using it solely for the great location. And in that case, I would just caution you to what they tried to pull on my friend and me when we stayed there. In general, I never feel comfortable giving any hotel my passport as a deposit and as a general rule I avoid staying anywhere that does this. This place pulled that on us and to make matters weirder they wanted both mine and the passport of my friend I was traveling with. This was red flags to both of us but we were checking in late and at this point, we weighed our options and decided to agree, to leave our passports. When the desk person took us to the room he was going to give us we walked into an ash try. The room reeked of smoke and looked like a disaster. We objected trying to explain to the guy that we needed the nonsmoking room. I must say he was kind and helpful and after explaining to him and his understanding we took us to the room next door. But when he showed us the room we realized someone else stuff was already inside. Thankfully they were not inside naked or wanting privacy but it was still uncool that we just opened their room like that to show us. . . finally, he took us to another floor and we found a room that would work. Overall the room was small but nice with a nice view of the ocean. We thanked him and started to unpack our stuff. When I set my stuff on the couch I noticed a giant white stain on the upholstery of the couch/bench in the room. I immediately took a photo of it and ran down to the front desk to alter the man that this stain was not from us. When someone holds your passport the first scam that comes to mind in accusing you of damaging your room so that the hotel can then extort you for money because they have your passport. I have no idea if this hotel does this, we were lucky because we were on the ball to protect ourselves but I think its highly suspicious that they would want to hold your passport. In the morning we went to the free breakfast and the people were extremely rude. I actually made it a point to leave a small tip because they were so rude and we did nothing to deserve their hostility.

    This hotel is LOUD

Nice, clean and super friendly staff. But walls are paper, you literally hear everything in this hotel. We paid extra to get larger corner room with nice view, huge mistake. At 5 am a local radio (as staff said) started playing songs and morning programs from loudspeakers just outside our room. And that happens every morning. So if you are not a morning person like me you dont want to wake up for that. After first night we changed our room to streetside of building - a lot better. No more loud morning wake ups. But as I said, walls are paper. Heavy drinkers will ruin your night because you hear everything they do/shout/sing So, if you have daily activities planned as I did, you are gonna need ear plugs if you stay in this hotel. But if your up to drink late and loud and wake early, this is your hotel.

The staff were very kind, and polite.

Price is excellent value for money, we were very impressed with this. We quite liked the powerful shower, and it could go very hot, if you're that way inclined. The bed was very comfy, there was a bath in the room, free bottled water each day, there was a small balcony where you had a city view, it was not very noisy despite being beside a busy road,

    Manageable for sleeping only

I spent 3 nights at this hotel. I booked a room with a sea view...much less to say there is only a partial sea view with other buildings and construction work obstructing your view. The first room was ok, until we went out and came back to discovered the bed was surrounded by water...How I don't know! Immediately we asked to change and we were given another room few floors down with an even less view of the sea. This room seemed ok,until I discovered there wasn't any light in the bathroom...AGAIN I returned to reception....needless to say nothing they can do until the next day so I requested a discount which I got! There isn't a restaurant or bar in the hotel...however the staff will try to help as much as they can. English isn't the greatest but they will try to help. One of the days we asked if was a tour foe this island...the driver that turned up appeared to be a friend of one of the receptionist (Maybe just helping him to earn) again the communication of English wasn't the greatest but he did take us to a few places around the island and waited for us...600000 dong was quoted before we left & it was worth it! The hotel is located near a few restaurants and bars and very near the market, but accessing the beach is something you will have to work out...You can walk through some hotel's grounds and they won't say anything to you...or you take the long stretch of road from the hotel to what appears to be the main entrance of the beach? Overall an ok stay.
