Amazing accommodation and foodExcellent country pub with lovely rooms. Amazing food and good breakfast. Friendly staff. Spotlessly clean, good beds, fluffy big towels and great tea and coffee making facilities. Outside seating to watch the world go by with a good choice of beer

Early Autumn BreakGreat few days spent staying at The George Inn. Lovely hosts in Rebecca and Rory and fantastic food cooked by James. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Great staff, food and roomsWe stayed here with friends in rooms 2 & 3 for a couple of nights. One night we ate in the pub and had breakfast both days, all were great, with quality ingredients. Rooms are in keeping with an old building, so the odd creaky floor but all adding to the character.

An Oasis of Welcome after two rejectionsWe were in Tideswell for a walk, following a guide that recommended a tea room in Tideswell . Sadly that tearoom had changed hands and was now a Bistro that didnt serve any food after 2.30 and wouldnt recommend any other places in Tideswell. We found another cafe further up and got a very frosty reception and were also told there was nowhere they would recommend to eat in Tideswell. We were beginning to have a feeling of the League of Gentlemens Local shops for local people , when we decided to try this pub, we had passed at the beginning of our walk and found that Outsiders were welcome in Tideswell after all. Very friendly and welcoming and dog friendly ( we had two dogs) and human friendly too. We were saying to them we were surprised that in these times of specific hardship o small businesses , we had met with such hostility at the other two eateries. We both had really nice salads and both succumbed to naughty pudds too. Really good and tasty food , good service and highly recommended. Thank you for restoring our faith in humanity and Tideswell.

Great food and serviceHad lunch here for my mum's birthday. Wonderful steak and ale pie with hand cut chips, from a good range of menu choices.Mum is vegetarian, and she had several things to choose from too, settling on a halloumi and mushroom burger. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back again.
