  Excelente estadía

  Muy cómodo, habitaciones de un tamaño más que suficiente, limpio, excelente atención. Nada que envidiarle a otros hoteles del sector y por mucho mejor precio. Es atendido por sus dueños lo que da calidez a la estadía. Gracias por toda la preocupación! Se nota que hacen su trabajo con amor.

  Family Meal For My Dads Birthday .....

  Its not often that our family are all together (almost all of us anyway), so we decided to take advantage of the Government scheme and eat out at the G&A. The Covid-19 guidelines were adhered to well and the staff were friendly. Our seating and table was in a makeshift dining area, set out in their function suite. It definitely wasnt the most homely meal ive had but this was (understandably) a solution to the social distancing rules. For my meal, I had the Classic Nachos to start with followed by a main course of a Beef Burger, including all of the accompaniments. The food was simplistic from a very limited menu. However, my plates were both empty at the end (without complaint). The Peroni on tap was also a fine addition! My Mum kindly paid for the meal but for five adults and two children (including alcohol and at least a two-course meal each), the bill totalled just shy of £70.00. Great value for money! Always happy to support our local businesses.

  Beyond praise

  A walking holiday turned to a nightmare when my wife was taken acutely ill and ending up in hospital, first in Melrose and later in Edinburgh. I needed a place to stay and happened on the G and A.On relating my tale to Dawn she ordered me to sit down, brought me a cup of tea and biscuits, said of course there was a room and to stay as long as needed. It was such a relief to have matters settled so easily and with such sympathy. I kept them updated on my wife's progress and eventual discharge from hospital.Both she and Graham made a really difficult time that much easier.Both of us will always be so grateful for all they did, way beyond the call of duty and at a time that due to Covid cannot have been easy for themselves

  Lovely food

  Came in for lunch yesterday afternoon as a family of four and two dogs. The food was absolutely gorgeous, decent price and the young lady that was working behind the bar had brilliant customer service.

  Empty bar for a reason

  The Covid restrictions were lifted in Scotland in summer '20 ..briefly. We took advantage and spend a pleasant hour or so in the beer garden of the Kings Arms in Melrose. Place was as busy as it was allowed to be and was observing all the protocols. We decided on a change of scene and went next door to the G&A which also has a beer garden. The beer garden was completely empty ,as was the bar...no wonder, the woman behind the bar ( clearly some kind of manager...saw here on the way out sat in an office at a computer ) was just about one of the grumpiest people I've encountered in a hospitality environment for years. She was sarcastic from the get go...completely humourless, unhelpful, and even borderline rude. we had one drink and made our way onto the Ship, which appeared to be being managed by a young woman who was glad to see us and was all over the protocols and rules. The Ship , like the Kings Arms was as busy as it was allowed to be.
