  Una maravilla

  Acabo de pasar 3 dias en este hotel y me impresionó bastante. La atención fue excelente y el diseño del hotel tiene todo lujo de detalles. El espacio de wellness es relajante y especialmente diseñado. Muy buen gusto. No fue caro y estuvimos a media pension. Buen buffet de desayuno y buena cena. La ubicacion es excelente pues cerca tienes un monton de lugares interesantes: Salzburgo, Hallstatt, minas de sal de hallein, cueva de hielo de Wefen, etc.

  Gorgeous Alpine Setting

  My husband and I stayed here for one night a few weeks ago, while on vacation in Austria and Germany. We just happened upon the town enroute to a day trip to Hallstatt. Since we didn't want to stay in Hallstatt (to avoid the crowds) we thought this would be a good pic. The views of the mountains from our balcony were amazing! Our room was quite spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom was very small and in need of updating. I would have given this hotel 5 stars, but there is no air conditioning. The day we stayed was very hot and humid, and our room was extremely hot. We ended up sleeping with the door to the balcony wide open. I didn't feel very secure doing this, as other rooms shared the same balcony as ours. But it was way too hot to sleep with it closed, and the window only could be opened a crack. We chose a package that included both breakfast and dinner. I was a bit apprehensive to see a large tour bus full of people check in soon after we did, as I thought maybe the food might be mediocre. Thankfully dinner was very good, and breakfast was delicious. Breakfast was a large buffet of meats, cheeses, breads, yogurts, fruit and more. Also a chef could prepare eggs any way you would like. We both got omelettes and they were very good.The dining rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Service was very good. Almost forgot to mention that we were offered glasses of sparkling wine when we checked in. I was very impressed by that touch! We ended up having to make a call back home to the US (we did not have use of our cell phones in Europe). The call we made was collect, and accepted by the receiver. When we checked out, we were very surprised to see that they had charged us over $30 Euros for the collect call! We tried to dispute it at that time, but it got us no where. We have since emailed the hotel twice about the charge and have not heard from them. If I were rating just on this alone, I would give the hotel 1 star. We didn't have time to use the pool or spa areas, but they did look very nice. Overall a very lovely hotel. Definitely in need of updating their bathrooms, adding a/c (or at a minimum offering fans), and getting new mattresses. We both woke up with sore backs.

  Very good restaurant, best service, food, wine.

  We only visited the restaurant couple of time, not the hotel, but the experience was excellent so I wanted to share it . There is no special space for the restaurant alone, so I will write it here. We stayed in another hotel and went to Moisl just to eat, a la carte. The service was perfect, the food came quickly and the quality was excellent. The first evening I ordered mushrooms with sauce and when I was asked about whether I liked it I complained low voice, that there were not too many mushrooms and I immediately got more, so many that I could not eat them all, to my regret because they were very good. The fish was also excellent and the open wine perfectly matched the food. The price was affordable and on the menu you could find everything, for every taste. The service personal was especially friendly , quick and professional. A very good experience.

  Moisl's Hotel in Abtenau is around 60 km away from Salzburg, so it is not ideal if you want to visit Salzburg. The mountainous landscape in Abtenau is impressive. The Moisl's lies in the centre of Abtenau. The neighbouring buildings stand rather close one next to the other, which I did not really like. The hotel is no longer modern, but my room was clean and so was the linen. The decoration in the reception or in the corridors e.g. was a bit kitschig. The meals in the restaurant were typically Austrian and delicious. The breakfast buffet was very abundant. The service seems to distinguish between regular hotel guests and others. I did not make use of the spa.

  Very satisfying

  We spent a week staying in Hotel Moisl. Everything was just fine. Room was large enough and the bed was comfortable. One problem they dont have 80cm x 40cm bed pillows. Which we manage to get in most European Hotels. Room was clean with a separate toilet. Breakfast was good with more on offer than many other hotels we have been to. The evening meal was excellent with a large salad buffet over 12 choices daily. The whole place functions well because the owners are there watching and working too. Their wellness spa and garden area are of a high standard. The spa is decorated in a most attractive fashion as is the whole hotel. Service and personnel friendly and helpful. Just a short walk to the town square where there is twice a week music entertainment. Good daily public transportation to Salzburg free with the tourist card. All round very satisfactory and recommendable.
