  Nice B&B, excellent location

  B&B Gelone is located just off Corso Gelone on the second floor of a residential building in the Archeological Zone in Siracusa, near the Provincial Hospital and the Jolly Hotel. From the B&B it is an easy walk to the archeological sites, the museum and a longer, but pleasant walk to Ortygia. For those who do not wish to walk, buses and taxis are available. The B&B is in a fairly recently converted apartment. There is a small elevator for those who do not wish to carry their bags up the stairs. The B&B has five rooms, each with queen size bed, sofa, writing desk, armoire, TV, minibar and air conditioning as well as ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was compact and the shower base in ours was raised requiring one to step up and down, which was a little difficult for a short person. The air conditioning in our room was fine but our friends rooms a/c had a problem, which the owner said he would have to have repaired the next day (we were there on a weekend). There is a breakfast room/lounge in the front of the apartment with a large table which the proprietor let us use for a card game one afternoon. The room as well as the bedrooms are decorated with pictures and guidebooks from the owners travels. There is a computer with internet access which we were permitted to use. Continental breakfast was included. Unrestricted street parking was available, perhaps because we were there on a weekend but guarded parking nearby is available for an extra fee. The proprietor spoke some English and was very friendly. He explained that he had set up the B&B for his son, who we saw only briefly but who made no attempt to interact with us. We liked the location, the cleanliness of the place, the friendliness of the proprietor and if we were to return to Siracusa, would happily stay at B&B Gelone again

  Elegant and comfortable B&B with great owners.

  This B&B is in a wonderful location central to all the historic sites and the train station. Our room was extremely spacious and comfortable complete with writer's desk, daybed, and sitting area. Breakfast was typical of Syracusa (breads, cereals, pastries, cafe). The owner offered us some oranges from his farm that were delicious. The decor of the B&B was very tasteful and elegant with antique finishes.

  great location with super hosts

  B&B Gelone is in a great location; very easy to walk to the Archaeological ruins, Ortygia, and other attractions. The rooms are impecably clean, and well kept. Everything is in good condition and working order. Giuseppe and Elenora are extremely hospitable and put out a beautiful breakfast every morning. They speak English very well and make you feel like family.

  Decent location, nice rooms, very nice owner

  The B&B is a little far from Ortygia (about 20 minute walk), but very close to the archaeological ruins, making it a good choice for Syracuse. The room was very clean and reasonably priced compared to other things in the area. The owner was very accommodating and shared stories about his life in the US and good places to travel in Sicily. We were only there one night, but definitely recommend.

  Perfectly positioned B&B!

  A little difficult to find but worth every cent! Fabulous host in Sebastien who is happy to share loads of wonderful local knowledge - make the time to chat as he's wonderful! Parking can be an issue and note that the entrance to the building is a secure entry. You may need to call prior to arriving.
