    very good bargain

Best $40 a night hotel i have ever stayed at! no frills but a clean basic room. the furniture was functional and not in disrepair and in good shapee. wifi worked well beds not the most comfortable - but not horrible either. even the simple breakfast was adequate - toast, cereals, some coffee cakes all in all a great bargain for $40 a night

    BEDBUGS

First thing I do after checking in anywhere is pull back bed sheets - immediately found bedbugs along edge of sheet - dark brown, size and shape of apple seed and they scurry (do a Google search, many people are allergic to their bite). Husband went for desk clerk who saw them. He offered another room but we declined, couldn't get out of there fast enough, didn't want to bring bugs home like what happened to friends from another hotel. Rodeway policy is no refund for any reason. (Side note: Slideshow on this hotel must have been Photoshopped because premises, including room, are much more shabby and rundown in person.)

    the price isn't right

This motel was built as part of the first generation of Motel 6s, and now it is really hurting. Rodeway Inn bought it recently and raised the prices considerably, but has made no improvements. The biggest defect is that it has central air, which the office has to set to either cooling or heat, and during transitional seasons, when you might need both, you get only one. I was there in late October but the heat still was not on, and I had to sleep in my clothes to remain warm enough. The blanket was pretty meager. The TV was so foggy that you could barely make out the scene, and most channels had no sound. The curtain was so warped that I had to use the table and chair to pin it closed. The phone service was dysfunctional. As a Motel 6 this place long cost $35, but now it is over $50, entirely unreasonable for the value. They claim Rodeway Inn will make improvements, but you'd better wait till then to stay here.

If Possible Plan to Stay in Another Town

Safety first, we decided to call it day...long drive. No other options for a place to stay..this was the best of the best in Socorro. Grounds and room were very, very, very outdated, clean but outdated. No AC in room, no fridge, no microwave, no blowdryer, no iron, very snowy reception on old box type TV and the room was tiny. NO amenities and was charged $92. We paid a $25 pet stay fee. Staff was GREAT...friendly, quick, and welcoming. I was told I could not get a deposit back on my card because only one staff person was authorized to give the refundable deposit and she was not working that day. The breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, breads/bagels/pastries/cereal. The area to eat was very clean. This place needs to adjust pricing with condition and age of the motel.

    Poor

In pictures it looked ok, but in reality, it was not clean, no microwave, the heater does not work, and nights are pretty cold there, in bathroom also it is too cold even to be, not to tell about taking a shower there, poor WiFi, too expensive for that quality. It should to be on "Hotel impossible" TV show.
