  Port hotel

  Fairly average hotel down by the port, so not too close to the city centre, as other reviewers point out. Whilst it does have facilities - a shop, massage & sauna, swimming pool etc, it's more of a business hotel, rather than a holiday place. The staff were friendly and helpful, but breakfast was pretty minimal with instant coffee and selections of fried eggs, sausages, fries and vegetables alongside cheese and meat. My bath was not clean - it had drip marks from where the cleaning fluid had been squirted around it and then left. Overall, I'd best describe it as a place that you would go to out of necessity, rather than choice.

  Big liars

  Don't even dare to stay in this hotel. Nothing positive to say. 1) super-far from center, inconvenient gate 2) view over neighboring ugly panel buildings 3) unprofessional reception 4) smelly rooms 5) old and worn-out furniture 6) no sound proof 7) loud ventilation in bathroom 8) crackly door 9) slow internet 10) awful breakfast (I had a feeling that it was leftovers from yesterday). Water was okay, towels was ok. Bed was uncomfortable. I was a bit shocked honestly speaking.

  No redeeming features

  Glossy foyer, but the hotel itself is aging and very basic. Smallish room, two single beds, not very comfortable. Cupboard doors warped one would not shut, the other would not open. Bathroom tiles old and stained, but plenty of hot water. There was a small fridge (supposedly a mini-bar), but mine was empty, and when I enquired, I was told the mini-bar was not for those rooms. The WiFi was free, but so slow and unstable it was virtually unusable. The breakfast was the worst I have had in any hotel, anywhere. No tea or coffee, cold fried eggs, cold chips, and a surly waitress. It is also a long way from the city centre and historic monuments. The desk staff were reasonably helpful, but seemed incapable of coping with paperwork the fact that I (a foreigner) had already been elsewhere in Russia for a week seemed to throw them completely, and resulted in repeated and time-consuming demands for evidence of every step in my travels. In addition, the lift was out of order, and my room had to be checked by the cleaning staff before I was allowed to leave.

  Comfortable bed, quiet room

  Very long wait for undeserving breakfast. Out of my 5 nights, only had breakfast two times. Jacuzzi in Gym/Sauna operates on icy cold water. Unacceptable. No access for wheeled luggage or wheel chair, had to climb about 15+ steep steps to enter hotel. When it rains, the rain water stays on balcony floor, there is no drainage. In bathroom, there is no drainage on the floor and the shower curtain is a drape-like, not sliding door! Every night, I had to wipe and dry water from the floor using extra towels. When contacted Reception with the problem, only got the answer-- "We do not have drainage and we do not plan to install the sliding closure for the shower." (?!) I never had such an issue anywhere else. Staff is trying their best but it seems that the Management does not care about their skills. They claim to be the best business hotel in the area, and it only makes me wonder - how?

  Ok Hotel but terrible service with the Restaurant

  I stayed here for 3 nights & the Hotel was comfortable & clean. Room was nice & a comfy bed. I was rather annoyed with the opening times of the restaurant, after a long journey I turned up at the hotel at 7pm, I knew the restaurant was open until 9pm so at 8pm I ventured down to their restaurant only to find it was closed, they had decided to close early. This happened the following night too. I was very disappointed. There were no restaurants close by so I decided not to have dinner. Would not recommend this hotel. But if you do stay here & want to use the restaurant you really need to check what time they decide to close because it certainly isn't the time they advertise.
