  Excellent hospitality, great hotel.

  Found the hotel on Booking.com, they honored the price which was very reasonable and which included breakfast:) Simone and Jon on the front desk were very nice. The hotel is very clean, modern and quiet, has a wonderful breakfast selection, lovely terrace overlooking the promenade, we did not have a lake view but we could step out onto the terrace from our room. Very comfortable bed and Simone accommodated us with extra pillows:) There is no parking on site but you can load and unload at the front door and a short walk to the overnight parking structure. Fee $15 a night for parking, cheap by Swiss standards! We would definitely return here, it was 5stars for us:)

  Enjoyed 3 nights in September.

  This was our second trip to Ascona. We had spent only a few nights there back in 2003. This time our plan was to use the hotel as a base and do day trips mostly by bike into the Vallemaggia, Bellinzona, etc. Simone and John were especially helpful In assisting us with maps, directions, suggestions, etc. We enjoyed our room and the hotel very much, and access to coffee 24/7. We also appreciated having free access to the hotel bikes, although I wouldnt recommend using their E-bikes for long distance bike rides, as they are older models. But for rides close by they are fine.

  Autumn break in Ascona

  Warm and very friendly welcome by professional and helpful staff. Very well-appointed, modern and sparkling clean room with balcony and superb view of promenade, lake and surrounding mountains. Excellent breakfast buffet catering for all tastes. Access to coffee and tea throughout the day with welcoming areas to sit and enjoy your drink. Spacious modern terrace with tables, chairs and sun loungers where breakfast can also be taken on warm days. Inviting gym, sauna and swimming pool as well as free use of bikes and e-bikes available. Although centrally located, very quiet day and night. Highly recommend for comfort, cleanliness and friendly staff who go the extra mile. Hope to visit again in the future. H. Lambrinudi and D.   Beautiful location, great customer service

  We stayed 2 nights at the Hotel La Meridiana. The location could not be more perfect - on the lake in the heart of the city, next to restaurants and gelato cafes. Our children loved the pool and I appreciated the massage jets and waterfall to relax tired muscles. Gian was amazing and welcomed us everyday with a big smile. He was there to assist us with anything we needed - and gave us great info on things we didn't know to ask about! Gian always took time to talk with our children and ask about their day. Thank you, Gian, for everything! We will be back for a longer holiday!

  Nice hotel . . . But

  My problem was the internet. Internet in the hotel was good but in our room it was useless. It dropped out continuously after a few seconds and you had to log back in 3 and 4 times to get a connection. Overall it was unusable. It was all the more annoying because we had paid extra for a junior suite with a big terrasse. We complained to the lady at the reception and while she had been very pleasant up to then her attitude changed and from then was very cold with us. To me there was a problem with one of the internet repeaters but I got the impression she just thought I was just stupid. There was no effort to offer an alternative room with better internet connection or no offer to get someone to fix the issue or even an apology. Just a shrug of the shoulders. I run a mesh internet system at home with three Transmitters and I am not a fool in technical matters. We were only there for 4 days so I let it rest but actually it soured my opinion of the place and when the weather broke we just left one day early. She seemed delighted when she told us that we had to pay for the full days booked. I did not argue. I was happy to leave. I should add that the guy on reception in the evening could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
