  potential to be a very good hotel rating 3 and a half

  We stayed one evening in Limone, during a short 4 day loop from Vienna, to Venice, lake Garda, Innsbruck and back to Vienna . A great route but better to do this in a week. Limone is a must see if in that area.l a place that left a lasting impression from my first visit 30 plus years ago. As Limone is closed to traffic, hotel Garden is in a good location, Within easy walking distance to the main area. although located right on the main road , noise from traffic was not an issue for sleeping .however the lack of pillows and hard beds were. When we selected this hotel it was based on convenience of location, price and decor, our friends liked the decor, we found it somewhat outdated and very basic. Staff were very polite, helpful and we were offered a welcome drink, on the patio. Hotel is also very clean and it is good value for the money.. There is also a pool and breakfast is included. tour groups seem to use this hotel and may be their main clientele however we were treated well and all efforts were made to provide us with a good but basic breakfast. Coffee was from a machine. would have preferred fresh coffee .young man looking after the breakfast area ,was extremely polite, helpful and conscientious. In the morning we wanted to go back into the centre of town and we were allowed to leave our car there for several hours after checkout. Free parking while you are a guest is standard. We chose to have dinner in Limone itself and why not when you can eat outside by the lake and not be subjected to traffic. With a few changes this hotel could be a very good . If you are looking for a basic hotel room ,that is clean ,reliable , and in close proximity to the centre, this will be just fine., especially if you are really only looking for a place to sleep while taking in this lovely town.

  Had a meal here

  I had a pasta meal here whilst staying in the area. I can't fault the service as she was very pleasant but I should have known the food would be poor when I heard the microwave ping! We paid 21 for 2 beers and 2 small pasta dishes. A service charge is included in your bill but this is normal practice in Italy.

  Excellent friendly and attentive staff

  Well situated in the warm and welcoming town of Limone with direct car parking on to the main road from Riva.The hotel is clean and comfortable with a dinning area and veranda that overlooks Lake Garda the veranda is a wonderful spot for breakfast.The staff are multi lingual as you would expect in this area and very helpful . Breakfast is continental buffet comprising of a good selection of cold meats etc.All in all we had a good stay only 3 nights but we were made to feel at home . Finally the Hotel Garden in our opinion gave very good value for money.

  Short Stay in Limone

  We stayed in Limone before, but never in a hotel. There are very few new and modern hotels in Limone, most affordable hotels are somewhat outdated. This hotel is no exception. It has its charm. The big plus is the great location near the city center. Also a nice breakfast and a friendly staff. We also liked the pool and it's near a more quiet peace of public beach. Altoghether this was more than enough for us. Great stay. Would definitely go back.

  OK hotel, terrible owner.

  After enquiring about staying at the hotel with a Labrador and whether the dog was allowed to stay at at the swimming pool, the staff replied with an email saying that the policy of the hotel is that dogs are allowed, but not at the swimming pool or at the restaurant. HOWEVER, they never forbid guests to bring their dogs at the swimming pool as long as the dog is quiet, at the leash and no other guests complain about their presence. After making sure that this meant we could stay at the swimming pool with our dog, we booked the room. On the very first day, after about 1 hour we were at the swimming pool, the owner sent the waiter over to inform us that the dog was not allowed at the swimming pool, even though we were the only guests at the swimming pool. At this point, we went to talk directly with the boss, showing him the email we received with instructions about their policy. The grumpy owner complained that he didn't know who from his staff sent that email and that dogs are actually not allowed. After a brief discussion we concluded that we wouldn't have booked if we were told that the dog was not welcome. And so he had to agree that the dog could stay as long as he was positioned in a reserved corner. Completely unprofessional, blaming a member of his staff for the wrong information we received rather than taking responsibility for the misunderstanding. Overall, the hotel is basic. The swimming pool is nice, the rooms are old Italian style. The breakfast is miserable, more tailored to continental tastes. The majority of guests was German. The location is convenient as only 10 mins away from the centre of Limone. However, due to the owner's discourtesy and lack of professionalism, I would not recommend the hotel.
