  My daughter's wedding was under fire due to Covid, The Gailes Hotel came to the rescue, with only two weeks to get organised. With dresses and kilts all sorted, cakes rearranged. Cars, photographer and flowers all ready to go. The hotel staff worked with my daughter and her now husband, planned the rest of the wedding. Even with masks and covid distances and the rest of the government rules, we had the best day ever. The staff were so helpful and looked after us all amazingly. The food was terrific, the sun was shining, what a day we all had. We can't thank you enough for making my daughter's wedding day so special. Thank you

  Spa humbug

  So we booked this hotel as a stop off for travel further South as it had a spa bath and facilities. When we arrived we were told that the Spa was closed for renovation which had been going on for some time, So that was a major disappointment as that was the primary reason for booking this hotel and no notice on the hotels.com webpage. Room was fine however the shower was awful with little pressure and showerhead needed replacing as squirting out sideways. As nothing about we decided to have dinner in the restaurant. We were sat at a window in the bar area - hotel seemed very quiet and restaurant shut off. The table was wiped but still sticky. The fish was soggy and triple cooked chips could have been done with another couple of cooks. The steak pie was okay but gravy very runny. The cooked breakfast was fine however not much in the way of non cooked items so minus points here. Overall this was a very disappointing stay.

  One night stop off

  Lovely hotel, great staff dining staff very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. We had a delicious evening meal and a lovely hot breakfast. Very clean, very covid safe. Lovely place outside to sit in the sunshine. Good car parking. Good room, nice hot shower.

  Anniversary & Birthday celebrations

  My husband and I stayed at the Gailes last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband birthday. We were married in the Gailes 4 years ago and highly recommend as a wedding venue and hotel. Booked Ailsa suite, or honeymoon suite. Bedroom has been decorated since our wedding and was beautiful then and beautiful now. Large bathroom with double jacuzzi bath, sauna and large double separate shower. Absolutely amazing and so great to de -stress and relax. Food is great, staff always friendly, polite and helpful. Covid regulations in place throughout the hotel, very clean.

  Early Christians present

  As we entered the reception we were greeted warmly and dealt with prompt. We then made our way to room wow it was lovely and so clean and plush with a view of the pond . We then went to the thermal spa . So relaxing and very clean . Back to room then had a rest . Dinner time we went to the restaurant, clean efficient and well cooked food and well presented dishes. Staff very attentive and friendly . Back to the room to finish off our bottle of complimentary bottle of Prosecco. Good night sleep and for a special treat my husband got breakfast delivered to room . Breakfast was beautiful had a wee lie down after it then a relaxing shower then time to pack case . Once again reception were friendly as were all the staff at the Gailes. Thank you very much to them all for helping us with a much needed break .we definitely will be back .
