  Perfect in every way!!

  We found this beautiful gem on Trip Advisor, and we are so glad we did!! We drove in from Amsterdam and the inn keeper was kind enough to wait up late for us. When we got in, our room was as cute as it could be- we even had chocolates on our pillows!! We had a four person loft. Decor was adorable, and everything was perfect!! Breakfast was great. We enjoyed it so much. We loved walking around the property before we left. Such a GORGEOUS chateau!!! We thought this was the most beautiful place we stayed over our two week trip to Europe. Thank you for a great memory!

  Excellent hotel in very quiet rural area

  The hotel lies on a hill nearby where the Roman army once had their first camp in the region (Vetera I) It's very quiet as it lies well out of town in a protected nature area. The walk from the old town of Xanten is about 20 minutes up hill. The last part of the road is narrow and dark in the evening. The owners were very friendly and helpful and my room was spotless clean. The room had a comfortable bed, desk, small kitchen with refrigerator and microwave and a clean bathroom. The breakfast buffet was very nice with lots of tasty choices. Internet was ok but speed a bit low however sufficient for most tasks. Xanten is home to the spectacular museum in the area where once the Roman town Colonia Ulpia Trajana from around 100 AD was.

  A lovely place to stay

  This place was lovely to stay at for a couple of days while we attended a nearby wedding. The hotel is located within walking distance of the town center. And is placed near beautiful nature. Staff was very helpful and talkative, and made us feel welcome and at ease. The whole place is very laid back and relaxing which we enjoyed. Though there is only breakfast as a possibility. Town is so close and full of places to eat that the walk/drive is no problem at all. A good place for sure

  Wonderful place

  This castle-like building is beautiful. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Each with a small garden. The house is outside the city in quiet neighbourhood. The staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast ok.

  Beautiful rural setting

  The hotel overlooks green pasture populated with large horses. The hotel is only 25 minute walk from town and so peaceful. The room was large, airy and spacious. The bedding was wonderful and the mattress just firm enough. The bathroom was well appointed and a great example of how to use space effectively. The included breakfast was was varied and so tasty. Loved our short stay here.
