Large and conventionalFurano is a small town and from what I know, most people visit during winter for snow skiing. I went during the summer to see the flower lavender fields. This was the only hotel with availability during my stay. It's nothing fancy, but it's spacious, clean, well maintained with friendly service. The food was very good and there is also traditional bathing (onsen) inside the hotel.

Superb lunch at superlative resortThe orange brick building stood dominantly in the Furano valley. We stopped there for a good lunch to find out that not only we have a full mean but also a prromise to self that we should definitely come to stay. About the lunch, there are menus to meet your choice but the recommended ones are furano steak pork, stirred fried pork with ginger. A glass of fresh red grape juice ends the meal properly. Comparing the quality service with the price, this meal is totally impressive!!

Beautiful resort and rooms, with excellent serviceImmediately after arriving at New Chitose International airport, we jumped into our hire car and drove 2 hours to Lavender fields (Saika no Sato). Then onward to the nearby Furano Resort Orika. We were assisted in unloading our luggage from the car. Then, ushered into the cavernous lobby. Check in formalities were quickly completed. A smiley staff then brought us up to our 8th floor room, followed by a gent with our luggage. We were shown around our large and well appointed room. Walking in the door, theres a Y-junction where one side goes into the room with its floor to ceiling windows. The other junction leads to the shower/toilet/sinks area via a walk-in closet. Our bedroom had two double beds pushed together, and a single bed for our teenager. The beds were very comfortable and afforded a good nights rest after the relatively short overnight flight. Theres a large sofa set with another easy chair next to the large window looking out onto the golf course and further afield at the mountains. A name card sized photo is provided for you to identify the mountain peaks to the photo. Tea and coffee making facilities are available. The fridge has soft drinks and juices and a couple of cans of beer. All items in the fridge are complimentary. Another easy chair is at the foot of our beds, complete with ottoman. A flat screen TV is hung on the wall facing the beds and it only shows Japanese TV stations. The bathroom is the typical fiber glass item, but relatively large and well lit. It even has a TV and remote in here! Large bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner is provided. Out in the double sink area, theres a bottle of foamy soap, an amenity box with quality toothbrush and tooth paste, shaver and cream, sewing kit and other items. A hairdryer is also provided. Plenty of towels can be found under the sink. The toilet is in an enclosed room. It has all the usual Japanese toilet functionalities. An electronic safe is at the end of the closet corridor. WiFi can be received in the room. Lunch can be had in the lobby restaurant. We had a chirashi don, while my son slurped up his Shoyu-ramen. Dinner is a multi course affair and very filling, but delicious! Breakfast is also a multi course affair. We had to rush them a little as we were in a hurry to meet our next tour site. Orika is part of the golf course resort. The hotel is a 10 story building attached to a main building. The main building has high ceilings, with the restaurant area affording the best views of the mountains. A large cracking fire place separates the lobby from the restaurant. A really nice first stop on our tour of Hokkaido. The hotel, rooms and service were top notch. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Food was pretty good. Highly recommended.

Great place with nice view over the valleyFrom the outside upon arriving we got a bit worried, but the inside is really great and high standard. The room we had was not over spacious as common in this area but but very nice and high quality, the view on the other side mountains over the valley and vulcano /geyser activity was beautifull ( with zoom lens) Staff english was oke, and the friendliness at both reception and restaurant and surprise birthdaycake were great We were the only non japanese guests which made it even a better /special experience
