    "Old Hotel"

We stayed in a small and old western room that facing the lake. We dont feel good to sleep on the bed. The outdoor onsen is very small. But both the breakfast and dinner are good. I think we should choose to stay in a Japanese room instead of western room.

    Don't judge by the photos!

The photos do not do this ryokan justice, it is BEAUTIFUL. We stayed in deluxe Japanese room 201 which was delightfully appointed with an unforgettable view of Fuji-San. The staff were extremely helpful and polite and the onsen was very nice, with a sauna and hot pool outside under bamboo. It had a lovely garden and we'll priced gift shop. We had a traditional Japanese breakfast which was delicious and varied and the restaurant overlooked the lake. We took a taxi from Fuji San eki to Yamanakako where the hotel was located for about 4500¥ because we arrived quite late from Tokyo but the hotel was 10 metres from the bus stop, and it cost us 850¥ to get back the next day, and it was a very picturesque bus ride. It was easy to catch transport from Tokyo, Chuo line from Shinjuku to Otsuki, then local commuter train Kawaguchiko line to FujiSan Eki. The ramen shop nearby the hotel has delicious food at a reasonable price, don't be fooled by it's humble appearance. The only detraction was no open air onsen for couples. We booked through Japanican.com which was having a sale at the time, so we got the room about 20% cheaper. 10/10 would stay again.

    Best of both views!

To begin, the name of this hotel is actually: Fuji Yamanaka-ko Tagaoogi Hotel . We stayed a couple of nights for my birthday and had a wonderful time. We were a bit concerned as when we called the hotel to enquire about local transport we were informed that no one there spoke English. However when we arrived there were intact a couple who could much to our relief. When we checked it there were many apologies as we could only get a lake view room available! But what a great view it had. The room was western style, clean and functional. Small bathroom but full bath. The staff proved to be very helpful and even though the hotel was full it was so quiet. There is a local bus stop just outside the hotel which will take you to other towns and to the Gotemba Premium Outlets if you fancy shopping. Their are restaurants in easy walking distance as well as a 7 eleven. It is a great relaxation spot courteous helpful staff and comfortable room. The hotel itself does not have an English sign but you can trust your map app for the location.

    Great charming location

Only spend 1 night stay in mountain view room on 2nd floor. Can see Mt Fuji from room but floor too low so view combined with a lot of roofs. They have Onsen opens from 3 pm till 9 am. Price slightly expensive but it is high season if book in advance would be more cheaper. Hotel doesn't have English signage infront but it is in yellow color you will recognize walked from bus stop around 700 meters

    Lovely Fuji san view,

A nice ryokan on Yamanakako lake with the great Fuji on the back. Make sure you book the room on the third floor with Fuji san view. Onsen is good with a small out door onsen. Our stay is with dinner and breakfast, the dinner is very plentiful. A walk on the lake side is a must here. Highly recommend.
