Nice little hotel very close to MoselThe hotel is located adjacent to the Mosel (ca. 50 m). The next larger town is Cochem, about 3 km distance. There is a bus travelling once an hour. The overall hotel including our room was clean. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was good (above average I would say). There is also a very good fish restaurant within the hotel. One of the beds in our room was very old and uncomfortable. The furniture was kind of "old" and "loveless". But nevertheless, in total I can recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a nice and quiet stay close to Mosel.

Sleepless nightwe got 2 bedrooms to check the best ... one was with a very small window, sticky air, no air condition so we chose the other room, still sticky air, but the window was bigger ... The walls are so thin that you can hear everything happening in the other room ... our head was near the bathroom of our neighbour, each time they went to the toilets I had the feeling to be myself there ! And during the night, some other guests woke up friends by talking very loudly, I had the feeling it was in our room ... as said a sleepless night But the breakfast was good :-) and the owner very nice people

It´s really nice...especially for the price! We booked 3 nights with breakfast and dinner included, as well as a wine-testing (very nice in the hotel´s own wine-cellar) a bottle of Prosecco and a welcome cocktail. Alltogether for 198 EUR for 2 people! That is really very modest! And the value, which you get for that amount is very good: clean and even spacious rooms with a double-bed, bathroom with shower, an extra room "winter-garden-style", flatscreen (though small, but absolutely enough) and in addition a big terrace with a bench and some lawn. All topped with a beautiful view directly at the river Mosel. The food, which they offer (it´s self-service from the buffet) is all very fresh and absolutely tasty! We´d always stay here again. The only little downtake for us, was, that the waitress just kept forgetting, what she wanted to bring. It could sometimes take 20 miutes to get a freshly drafted beer (very good, though, once you got it!) or the bill for the drinks, which you had for dinner. All in all a very nice stay and a very, very nice area. Tip: Make a trip on the Mosel (starts in Cochem, which is truly a fantastic little village, like taken out of the medieval times), visit the local spirit factory in Valwig (very nice people and great liquors, which you can taste before you decide to buy it: Cheerio to that!) and don´t forget to visit Beilstein, which is only a 5 minute drive away and belongs to the cutest little villages (barely 1000 people, the marketplace dates back to the 13th century) that one can imagine. It´s a little like walking through a fairy tale, when you walk the few little streets there or trot up the 108 stairs to the monastery (great cake and scenic view of the river from their terrace-café; don´t miss out on that!).

Restaurant only!Fisch-Fritz sounded like such a great place to feast on some fabulous local fish. I ordered the Brat-Hering. That is usually made from a small Mosel fish, dipped in a tasty batter, fried, and marinated in some sour sauce with onions. It is sooooooooo delicious. It was on the menu. I ordered it, along with a potato casserole. The fish was served looking pale and sad, real mushy, as if the fish was cooked, turned in some batter and put on the plate. The potato casserole was so bad that I couldn't eat it. The waitress asked if I had not liked the food - I ate the salad, and I told her no. The place was packed, however, so I don't know if it had been just that dish or what. So it would be unfair to give the place a bad rating - I know nothing of the hotel itself. Just beware.

Fantastic Fritz - Nice Hotel Right on the MoselWe spent a weekend at this hotel and you get value for money with this property. We booked from a Groupon and I was not expecting much given the reviews. However, I was totally impressed with the stay. The staff were professional and courteous, the room was huge and had been remodeled. The view to the river was nice and it even had a small balcony. We had half board and the meals were buffet but well presented and tasted great. There was a wine tasting at 20:00 on the evening we arrived and a distillary visit from the local spirits distillary in this small village. The location is a 5 min drive to Cochem and this a major tourist spot on the Mosel from Trier to Koblenz. Really could not fault the hotel. --Bedding - nice and comfortable --Wifi - Strong --Food - excellent --Parking- in front and plentiful --Extras - Included (wine tasting and distilary visit) --Proximity to beautiful sites on the Mosel and bike path - Great spot One little point for improvement. The bathroom light is on a short timer based on motion. I would probably change it out or have a switch to give the guests the option to turn the motion sensor feature off. As it stands, the light goes off within about 10 seconds if it does not detect motion. All in all, would recommend and will come back. Thanks Hotel Fritz for a Warm Welcome and Nice Weekend, even on a cold March Weekend.
