    Good value

This place offers good value. It is not five stars (probably 3.5). You can commute easily to different spots in Beijing for a reasonnable price. I had a one bedroom (studio type) which was fine. Not knowing any chinese can be a problem in this part of town. Even the best english speaking member of the staff could not understand what I was saying when asking if they had a business center so I could print something with my laptop. i don't think the staff in the reataurants of the area speak any english, not even at KFC. This is not a problem for me but potential clients should know this. The rooms are cleaned every day. The towels are a bit thin. The main advantage is that the price is right for this location at a tad less than 400RMB ($50) but you need to haggle a little - again - a few words of chinese will help. There is a supermarket downstairs as well as a 7-11 and various restaurants (Chinese). Finding a taxi during rush hours can be a challenge. I had to join a friend one morning and at 7h30am it took me 30 minutes to hail one not busy!

    great locality

we were visiting beijing and were particular in having a hotel with a kitchen. After a lot of online research we finally zeroed in on Freetown. The hotel room was pretty good with 2 beds (for 3 of us), kitchen, internet, stove, oven,tv . The subway(Jinsong station exit B) is just outside the hotel building. There is 7-11 suoermarket nearby and also a good restuarant ( Hollywood). English speaking staff is less but u can still manage. Pretty good value for the room.

    Inexpensive quiet kitchen-apartment near subway

This apartment hotel provides convenience and a decent-quality experience at a good price. If anything is wrong with room, though, it would be important to speak Chinese. Beneath the restaurant of the adjacent building that faces out onto the 3rd-ring-road, there is a larger grocery that is increasingly higher-quality. On some evenings in the summer time, people perform or sing in the pedestrian area near the subway entrance and intersection. Enjoyable. This time at Fu Dun (Pinyin of characters used for Free Town), the kitchen had no utensils and we even had to ask, to get the microwave and more than a couple of hangers. Also, it seemed as if the best larger rooms with the larger beds were being rented out these days, rather than being offered to short-term guests. (The beds are soft by Chinese standards but hard by Western standards; ask for additional comforters and place them below the top sheets.) Perhaps because my wife speaks Chinese, we got everything we needed. We were very satisfied with the experience and will return again.
