  Comfortable stay

  Decent sized double room with AC and en suite bathroom. Meals, fruit and cups of tea and coffee provided. Friendly host who advised of the best way to get about without spending a lot and also made sandwiches to pack for travel. Location is south of the city, near the beach and 5 min walk from main railway line to Galle. There is a rooftop with views of the city skyline. Excellent value for money. Many thanks Harshi.

  Fantastic room fantastic host!!!

  We arrived in sri lanka to be greeted with a driver which was organised by harshi to bring us to our homestay. The welcome was unreal. Our room was large clean with everything you could possibly need. An en suite and a view of the sea. The best beach is a cheap tuc tuc away. Harshi cooked us the most delicious sri lankan meal and made us feel instantly relaxed after our long flight. There is also a roof top that over looks to the sea. Great spot to watch the sunset. A breakfast banquet prepared every morning and even dinner. Harshi made our experience here wonderful. There is nothing she cannot do for you she is wonderwoman!!!!

  Truly amazing

  Harshi looks after her guests to an extent I have never experienced before. The kindest woman and so interesting to talk to. The rooms are very comfortable and really good WiFi. Harshi will feed you till you burst if you let her!! Had breakfast here and a couple of evening meals -all good and freshly cooked. You can use Harshis washing machine for laundry or she will do it for you. She even came with me to Fort station at 6am to make sure I got on train to Kandy. Good local buses and trains to get around city. If you dont stay here then you must be mad!!!!!

  Like staying with relatives

  Stayed with Harshi on two occasions. She's a very hands-on host who will go to any lengths to see to her guests' needs. The truth is, guests don't always want this, and if you don't want someone to stay up late for you, encourage you to stay in for a home cooked meal, and fight with an unreasonable cab driver you probably want to stay elsewhere. I get it. Sometimes you just want a comfortable and impersonal hotel. This is truly a homestay. If you want to spend time in a Sri Lankan home with a friendly and welcoming Sri Lankan woman, this is for you.

  Lovely experience

  So I came back to Sri Lanka to visit a friend so I checked home stays near her and found Frangipani. I booked my room for 4 nights. When I came the owner Harshi was waiting outside, helped to carry my bag and lunch was already waiting (she called when i was in a taxi). She showed me my room (i booked a room with separate bathroom) and told me that she can also prepare dinner(both was free of charge). Everyday she asked what do you want to eat and she went to the shop to cook what you like ( food was delicious). She helped me to get tuc tuc to Mount Lavinia-beach for reasonable price, showed me where the train station is, told me everything I wanted to know and helped me wit everything I needed. I definitely recommend the place, maybe for elderly people is not so convenient because of the stairs, but still loved the place. Had no trouble with booking, I even stayed one more night. If in Sri Lanka i will book again.
