Beautiful stay @ Franceschi Park Hotel in beautiful Cortina

Our hiking group stayed in Franceschi Park Hotel in the Dolomites region for our final days of hiking in beautiful Cortina. The hotel & staff could not have been more accommodating. The large, warm, open living room was a great place for all 18 of us to sit with drinks & socialize. The warm wood architecture surrounded us and made it feel like home. The rooms were very comfortable with ample space for my wife & I to maneuver without bumping into one another. Our group dinners & breakfasts were delicious. Service was efficient, with a smile. It was a delight to stay here on our last leg of our adventure. I must add how helpful the receptionist was to obtain my boarding pass for the next day's journey home. " Mariana" went well beyound expectations to assist me in obtaining a printed copy of our boarding passes. i am technically challenged. And, I was having difficulty getting our boarding passes & printing them on the hotel's printer. Mariana took control, while maintaining other duties at the reception desk, and printed both boarding passes while we ate breakfast. She was so helpful and kind. If you travel to beautiful Cortina, stay at Franceschi Park Hotel. You will love it.

    Rude proprietors

We came as a family with kids who've never seen snow in their lives. On our first day here, we were walking around town and happened to find their park and that they had a map of the Cortina in the front of their property. While my husband and I were checking out the map, the kids ran around enjoying the snow pile in the park in front of their property. It was our first day, we were not aware all the parks in town were private. An older lady came out after a while and shooed the kids away in Italian - the whole family doesn't speak Italian, all I understood was 'privato', so I told the kids to stop playing in the park thinking she said the park was private. The kids stopped and just continued playing with the snow in the car park and on the road in front of the hotel. She came again scolding us. As we were trying to understand what she was trying to say, a man related to the woman came and scolded us in English (finally a language we understood) but instead of telling us nicely, he rudely told us we have been told 2x before we should stop and since we haven't listened, we have to leave. We tried to explain that we didn't know and only need to consult the map, he said we couldn't even do that because the map was private property (it was put outside the hotel), the snow " was private property" and we had to leave! If that's how they treat tourists, they really should not be in this business.
