Dont stayMy husband and I stayed overnight for a wedding. We checked in and went to the wedding. When we got back and went up to our room people were fighting in the hallway and it smelled like pot. We decided to check out. The man at the desk was fine but when I said I didnt want to be charged he had to talk to his manager. The manger was right near us, he rolled his eyes and said it was the wedding party making noise. It was not. The people fighting on our floor where not from the wedding party. Still got charged

EfficientThe room was clean. The front desk staff was very friendly. The overall hotel is fine and pretty much what you would expect. They had a hockey team there and should have done a better job of keeping them on the lower floors because they were making a mess all over.

Attractive hotel but lot of issues with our roomWe found the hotel generally attractive contrary to other comments and it was fairly easy to maneuver the luggage carts in the tight spaces. The receptionist is a future contestant on The Voice and he even sang for us ! But our room had a number of problems. The telephone headset was dead and we had to use the base speaker phone to call the front desk. They do not have the basic ABC channel in their lineup. The water was lukewarm at night and early in the morning, until it ran for 15 minutes later in the morning. Even if you set the thermostat at 67, when the heater starts, even at the low fan setting, it blasts forceful hot air which immediately makes you feel you are in a sauna ! Surprised to see no free breakfast but we got a free voucher for our trouble. The $15 breakfast is no better than the free breakfast in other hotels even though the bar locale provided an attractive setting. The fridge was noisy and we ran out of kleenex tissues. Shampoo, shower gel and the like are in large containers attached to the bath wall. Seems like the new trend but I hate it ! Finally the wifi is Open and not protected with a password which makes it insecure and unacceptable in today's world. There was some door banging in the hallway during the night.

Comfortable roomThis is my first hotel stay since the onset of Covid-19. I was relieved to see that there would be no room cleaning service until my departure. The room was very comfortable and had a small kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, sink, and mini fridge. They offered breakfast and dinner but I did not eat any meals at the hotel. The staff was very helpful accommodating my request for a late checkout and sending up a tv remote when mine was missing. I only have a couple of small suggestions. I would have liked to see visible cleaning regularly staff wiping down the elevator buttons and tending to other highly-traficked common areas. Also, I didn't understand the shower door design. There is no handle on the inside of the glass door and it is quite high, so when I got in the shower, I had no way to close it completely.

Pros and ConsThis hotel had a charming, cozy feel upon entering. It felt like entering your friend's home and hanging in the basement back in high school! The exposed bricks, low sofas, dark colors, all lent to a feeling of coziness and "the north." The bar seemed to be lively and cozy as well, though we did not visit it. Our first room wasn't very clean. Trash and paper were left on the floor, seemingly not having been vacuumed. There was also hair in the bathroom and stickiness on the counter. It was no problem at all to be switched quickly to a suitable, cleaner room. I wish we had enjoyed the hotel restaurant for dinner, because when we ordered breakfast the next morning, it was incredible. No frozen pastries, powdered egg continental breakfast. Real, homecooked omelettes and fried potatoes you'd expect at grandma's table on a Saturday morning. Fabulous, kudos to the chef!
