  Un buen lugar para descansar

  Estuve con mi esposa en el mes de agosto y la verdad es que fue una experiencia fantástica de relax total las piscinas son una pasada así como el spa. El servicio es muy bueno, quizás el único punto negativo es el nivel de la cocina.... pero bueno el resumen es que lo pasamos fenomenal y guardamos un buen recuerdo.

  en un bello y tranquilo paraje

  Aunque por desgracia me toco visitarlo por trabajo, se trata de un bello hotel para descansar, rodeado de espacios naturales y cerca de una ría, de un zoo y de un campo de golf. Se trata de un hotel bastante lujoso con espacios comunes muy agradables y un restaurante de buena calidad. Queda, eso sí, un poco alejado del centro de Cork.

  Stunning resort, ideal for families in the self catering houses

  We stayed as a family in the Fuscia Woods self catering houses. They are outstanding as regards space and comfort. Three double/twin bedrooms each with their own bathroom. Private parking right outside the front door. Floor to ceiling windows from the kitchen and living/dining looking onto a very large garden area and further on. Large patio area for summer days. So very positive and bright as regards space and light. Large well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable to stay in. A home from home. About 15 minutes drive from Cork city. The grounds are fabulous. The golf course looked wonderful, the clubhouse, sadly closed due to Covid, is beautifully positioned. We enjoyed the many walks. Younger children must love the Fairy trail. Can't comment on other facilities as we are in the middle of Covid. Would highly recommend it to families.

  Call in advance if you have dietary requirements!

  My husband and I stayed in Fota Island Resort in Dec 2020 and we found the whole experience lacklustre. We treat ourselves to one night away a year and because I am celiac we opt for five star as generally I have more choice etc. This is our only night away a year and is very important to us and we just found Fota lacking in comparison to other 4/5 stars we have stayed in. The room was clean and modern but there was not the wow factor I would usually have. The bathroom was impressive. As we were late arriving for lunch I had the same menu offered to me at both lunch and dinner. Our lunch was in the bar area, which was busy and noisy with loud music, fine for the afternoon, but we were disappointed to find ourselves dining there again in the evening. If you are looking for a couple get away this is not ideal! I had heard a great deal about the food and was eagerly looking forward to dinner to find I had one option from the entire menu. One! I had been told that breakfast was fabulous with a range of breads etc (by a celiac) only to find that I had no options bar one the next morning as well and the gf selection was limited overall. At checkout I spoke to the duty manager about our experience and while it was a nice conversation with a very empathetic lady, I still felt robbed of our annual getaway and will not be taking a chance on Fota again. The duty manager did indeed follow up with an email saying she had spoken to chef etc (I feel this is par for the course though) and asked if we stayed again to email first and they would be sure to accommodate us properly. I know we wont be taking a chance with our precious night away again but for any other celiacs considering it - be sure to email first and outline your needs!

  Love Fota - You cant beat this place.

  Stayed at Fota for years. In fact we got married here. However we sadly need to travel for a family emergency in lockdown & rent a lodge. The team have been incredible while we self isolate & then deal with our family emergency. Couldnt do enough to help us through. Amazing hotel with a very special team of people. Micheala McGann (duty manager) Natalie Morrissey Jacinta Barry John OFlynn (resort general manager) They are fantastic! Deserve a mention for caring & being super professional.
