An unexpected jewelWhen you walk into the lobby you experience an overwhelming sense of grandeur. This lobby could be in the middle of Las Vegas and not be out of place. The front desk staff worked with me to provide an excellent room and offered the wireless internet access as well. The room was fantastic. A huge bathroom with a tub and separate, fully glass enclosed, shower. Some might consider it a little dated but I felt it was very comfortable. Slippers and robes are provided standard. The only problem I had was finding an outlet that worked. I ended up utilizing the bathroom plug reserved for razors. The hotel is in the middle of town and close to shopping and many excellent resteraunts. Try the HotPot next door. I will go back again

It's not the worst place I've ever been but It clearly needs a lot of refurbishmentsThe first floor is amazing, marble everywhere and a huge Neptune statue. It really looks like a 5 star hotel. The problem comes when you jump out of the elevator on the floors that are "not public". Dirty carpet, yellow wall paper and an indescriptible smell make you think that something is wrong. When you enter the room you see the truth of the hotel. A carpet that you feet must never touch, the ceiling nearly falling, cracks and mark of dried fluids on the wall, partially fallen curtains, insulation tapes in all of the electric cables and the worst, the bathroom. A place that should be aseptic, is in fact a place with the taps covered with lime, a dirty WC (at least it hasn't human dumps) and a scary mold in the ceiling lamp. But now the news! The bed was bright white. Clean and confortable. Like an oasis in a desert.

Make yourself fortunateI think it's one of the best hotel in Harbin even though I haven't been to any other. The rooms I had was very very nice. The corridor is decorated with classic architecture. The breakfast they offer included a wide variety of foods, all of them as good as it can be. The staffs and the room service were very nice. I had a very nice time for 4 days stay.

Quiet, comfortable and warm, let down by the Little ThingsStayed here for two days on business in middle of November so minus degrees outside. Lobby is magnificent, and on the 13th floor everything is well appointed. [ I strolled around some of the low floors and they look like they need some work] Room was very hot to start with and ac also blew hot air, so switched off the conditioning and opened the window. -11C outside kept the room just right. Good fast internet with instant access. Large TV. Comfy bed. Quiet. But, nice coffee /tea facilities provided but the kettle lead doesn't reach the nearest plug. see photos. So on the floor or next to your laptop. Shower head would not adjust to spray - only jet-stream. Gym was well appointed for a hotel and the business centre ok. I didn't check out the pool Breakfast is a ridiculous price but there is a place a few metres to the right of the front door you can get a buffet cheap-as-chips and as you help yourself you don't even need to speak Chinese. Two of us ate for around RMB30 [$4.50]. Across the road to the right is a line of small good value restaurants, and about 300 m to the right of the main entrance [same side as hotel] is a large mall open 09:30 - 21:30 hrs with KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, MacDonald etc if you want that sort of muck. Large supermarket downstairs for pot noodles, fruit or anything else that you might need. Opposite the mall is a nice park for a cold evening stroll. Lots of karaoke places if you like that sort of thing, plenty of ATMs and good restaurants within a short stroll . Oh yes, top floor of the mall is ALL eating places. - Korean, Chinese, Fusion etc. take your pick.

Functiona, friendly l but not near anything interestingI chose this hotel because I could get a l AFFORDABLE Suite with separate bedroom so kid can sleep on rollaway bed in the other area. Rollaways cost 150 rmb per night, cheaper than most places. The hotel is quite dated and a little dusty. Its 3 star quality by western standards but was listed as a 5 star in China. Compared to a 5 star in Shanghai (Radisson) its 3/4. But we came not for the hotel. The savings on price is at the expense of location. 20 to 30 minute taxi ride to the main tourist zone. But well go there and stay the whole day and return at nighttime. Hotel has nothing within short walking distance, closest mini mart is 500 m and has only the basics. Breakfast mediocre. Taxi from airport about 120 but we took the deluxe car for 300.
