    excelente trato

    Fab Holiday

Had a lovely 2 weeks holiday at The Villa Fortin with family and friends. This is a family run smallish hotel that doesn't pretend to be anything than what it is. I requested a double bed and got one, I was on the top floor (no lifts) but hey it keeps you fit. My room was basic but very clean, towels changed daily and was more than big enough for me. Small pool area that is a real sun trap, nice terrace where there is a perfectly good Turkish buffet breakfast every morning and a small bar. Snacks served all day and have to say the best toasties I have ever had anywhere. Once we got our bearings just a 10 minute walk into Centrum and a 25tl taxi ride to Ladies Beach or can get on the dolmus which are very regular and cheap. The 3 brothers who run this hotel are lovely and so helpful they are a credit to their parents who we saw every day around the hotel hope Mr Fortin continues to stay well such a nice man. Anyway would I stay here again yes I certainly would, it is a little noisy but it's next door to the mosque and in a residential area so will be noisy. A big hello to everyone there you never know we may be back next year you have been warned

I wAs the only guest as the place was shutting . Late October .i found the room cramped , with a street view. No frills or anything, basic. It was clean . For me it was too basic but ok for a cheap place to sleep.

    Faulty Towers meets Spanish Inquisition

Dot on 10 am, regardless of whether guests had finished their breakfast or not, their cups, plates, even glasses and mobile phones were moved in order to take the table cloths off the breakfast tables. I ran out of toilet paper and asked the brother on duty if I could have some more. I couldn't believe my ears when I was asked whether I had more or less than half a roll left!! I rarely if ever use exlamation marks I obviously had used more loo roll than expected and was left in no doubt about my shortcoming....When I asked where I could hear some traditional Turkish music I was told I had to go the yacht harbour. When I said I wasn't all that keen on yacht harbours I was subjected to another interrogation and severe admonishing ( see under loo roll above). Incidentally, the best traditional music in Kushadasi can be found in the restaurants around the fish market. The hotel is pretty run down - pictures (framed photos) are faded to all-blue, the rooms are tiny. I had a double bed pushed up against a wall, no fridge, and balcony so tiny there was not enough space for two chairs, pillow cases were stained and the house rules are more borstal than hotel, i.e. don't put towels on the floor - fair enough, but please give your guests a bath mat, as I don't like walking on slippery, wet tiles at my advanced age."If you are found to have consumed food and drink not purchased in the hotel we charge you for them (!!!!!) I was meeting with a Turkish friend and the staff were - on the one hand - unbelievably intrusive - asking him - after we'd hugged and kissed- whether we knew each other (!!!!!) while on the other hand being unkind in the extreme. My friend, arriving on the overnight bus from Istambul, had lost his wallet and was - understandably - very upset. When he reported this to reception he wasn't even offered a seat, let alone a cup of tea. All management was worried about was his possibly not being able to pay his bill (!!!!!). He refused to eat anything because he felt so insulted. Ah - Breakfast - the food was basic, but the drinks consisted of a hot water urn and dishes of instant coffe, instant apple and instant orange tea (!!!!) Just when I though things couldn't possibly get worse I found on my last day there was no housekeeping because the aunt of their "cleaning lady" had died. I was eventually given some clean towels but had to make my own bed - no apology - no refund. The place is run by three brothers - why on earth couldn't at least one of them - perhpas the one who didn't do much apart from sitting around and wearing heavy metal chains around his neck - clean the rooms???? A pretty mysogonistic outfit and not somewhere strong women are welcome. There was a lot more unpleasantness, but enough said. One of the brothers ( fellow guests referred to them as the "three Basils") did try his best to be friendly and helpful.

Ive stayed at Villa Fortin many times with my grandchildren. The family that runs the hotel are very friendly and only happy to help with whatever you need.I think the hotel should be upgraded to a 3*.It is very tidy and the rooms are cleaned daily. It is very close to the centre of Kusadasi. The Breakfast buffet is very good. They also have Fast Food available during the day.Its a great place to relax on the terrace or in the pool.
