The worst hotel in ChinaThis is certainly the worst hotel I have ever stayed either in China or indeed anywhere else in the world. Rooms are dirty, smelly, there are stains on the walls and towels have holes in them. It is very run down and in dire need of renovation. The service is diabolical and staff are extremely rude and just don't care if a guest has a problem. I stayed for almost two months as I was on a long business trip. There was construction work outside the building on a side road for several days during my stay. The workmen were using a very loud drilling machine to break the asphalt on the road and dig the ground. The problem was that they worked during the night, so they started at about 10pm and often did not finish until 2am in the morning. This went on for 5 days so I did not get any sleep during this time. I checked the Chinese rules and no work is allowed between the hours of 5pm and 9am in the morning. I asked the hotel to speak to the site manager but they refused to speak to them at first. When I insisted and told them about the noise regulation the hotel manager said that he would speak to the construction firm but he clearly lied to me as the work continued for 5 days. I could not sleep as the noise was extremely loud. I asked them to move me to a different room on the other side of the hotel but no rooms were available for the first 4 days. They only offered me to move on the last day when I was too tired to pack all my things and move. My room was not clean at all, the bathroom had a very bad smell in it of drainage. I asked the staff to do something about it and all they did was the cleaning lady sprayed the bleach a couple of times, which of course did nothing as the problem was drainage. There were many horse flies in the bathroom which is usually the sign of serious dirt, stains on the wall, fittings were rusty. The room was generally dirty and bedding only got changed once a week. As I stayed for so long, I was sometimes still in the room when the cleaning lady came so I could see that all she did was she quickly swept the floor and changed the towels, she did not do any dusting or cleaning of bathroom or kitchen work tops. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is conveniently located for the financial district. But there are other lovely hotels in the area so I would never stay at this hotel again. I asked for a discount due to so many problems during my stay. They flatly refused to give me a discount and said that I already had a low rate.I do not think a rate of 398RMB per night is low if you stay for two months, and the discount they gave me originally was because I stayed so long. They refused to give me a discount due to the issues and when I said that I will unfortunately have to post a bad review the manager said that she does not care.

It's cheap and sort of close to SanlitunI stayed here because I wanted somewhere easily accessible to Sanlitun, as that is where most people I was meeting are located. From the time I checked in there were issues. My room was ¥368 but they wanted a deposit of ¥1,000. They said the room key card and the electric card were 100 each and then there was the deposit. After 10 minutes of hassle, I gave them ¥200 cash for the cards and paid the ¥368 room fee. Then I went to the room. I have to say that the A/C worked powerfully good. It took about 20 minutes for my room to go from sauna light to meat locker so bonus points there. The bed was, well, less than soft to be generous and let's face it, when staying in a hotel, the bed is a pretty key feature. Not to lose hope though. My other big point about a hotel stay is the shower, so on to the bathroom. Err, maybe not. I have to say there was a marvel of engineering stupidity going on here. The shower head couldn't be upright because it was placed next to pipes. The door wouldn't close because no one ever thought to see if the massive water tank in the shower would prevent it. There were holes in the towels too. I can't say that I would ever stay in this place again. There have got to be places about the same distance and in the same price neighborhood that are better than this. Folks, really, give this one a miss.

Confusing hotel names... double check!!Okay so I spent HOURS going through Chinese and English sites. Chinese hotels don't really operate like American ones - this building, the Forte International Apartment Hotel, has numerous hotel companies which own rooms here. One of them seems to be the one people dislike, based on the photos. I stayed at one called Fudi Jiayuan Self-service Apartment Hotel - I booked them on trip . com as they are not listed here on tripadvisor. I got a STEAL on a full service apartment in a great area at like $43 a night over Christmas!! It was their standard business room. Room was pristinely clean, only downside was a slightly smelly bathroom (it was really clean though - we just lit a candle and it was fine) and a very hard bed. Staff "office" is a random apartment room on the 6th floor. I called their number when I stood in the lobby and the guy came down to get me and show me to the office and then my room. Didn't speak any English but was very patient and friendly, we just talked using google translate. He actually helped me and my partner deal with a confusing registration thing with the Beijing police (he did nothing wrong, my company hadn't registered me properly previously, he helped me sort it out). They let me check in early and the guy actually called a taxi for me to my next apartment the day I left when I told him my Didi (Chinese uber) app wasn't working, and he paid for it!!! Great experience, would stay here again but maybe look for a room with a less hard bed... When you are looking through hotels, doublecheck the photos - the ones at Fudi Jiayuan look different than these. Guy's card says Chen Xiu Chun Sales . Manager - room reservations hotline 13683692308 . Forte Intl. Hotel Apartment No. 235 (street), Room 601 (office) Tel - 010-85715445 email: 86009551@qq.com Or you can book them on trip dot com like I did. It is an English version of the chinese site ctrip

Not impressedDirty moldy shower curtain. Room not very clean. They clean it just enough to make sure they say it was cleaned, but long term build up and neglect is apparent. I have submitted other photos for your viewing pleasure!
