  Lo unico bueno es el servicio, simpaticos y atentos. Lo demas muy disgustados. La habitacion estilo japones tenia un olor algo asqueroso que nos obligo a abrir las ventanas con frio. El onsen es una piscina, de relajacion nada. Existe la opcion de ir a un onsen de otro hotel más chulo. En resumen este hotel se ha quedado algo anticuicado para nosotros.

  Better then most

  Although really needs an uplift, still better then most, but as usual in Hokkaido, depands on the staff. Some are very nice and helpful, and some are on the verge of rudeness. Very good location in front of the peer

  A great not-to-big hotel

  This hotel was one of my favorites is Akan. Although it's around 15 minute walk to Akan village (Ainu visitor center) it is right next to the boat pier which makes it easy to board the sightseeing boat. This hotel offers great rooms and great buffet!

  Great

  It was a bit hard to find maybe because of its long name but the hotel only displayed Hanayuka on the building. But the staff was helpful and welcomed us and directed us to parking (paid) at the front of the hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner had good variety. The winter festival was just a short walk away and we could even watch the fireworks from the hotel. Many rooms even have windows facing the fireworks so guests could watch from the comfort of their own room. Unfortunately ours faces the other way.

  Pay for the privilege to stay in a dirty room and enjoy facilities with group tourists

  The hotel, just like the other Tsuruga properties and probably other hotels in Lake Akan, is way overpriced. We knew this before booking the hotel, but was still very disappointed at our stay at Hanayuuka. Very non-characteristics for a Japanese hotel, our room was almost filthy. The bathroom smelled like a group of homeless just showered in it, and there were stains on the shower door and the floor. We had to turn off the A/C despite it being -15c outside because the air came out of it had a strong moldy smell. We even found a used towel in the closet. The elevator had cigarette smell, and the lady's public onsen smelled like a combination of bleach and pee. Both the restaurants and onsen were full of noisy group tourists. On the plus side, while neither the dinner buffet nor the breakfast buffet was impressive, but they certainly weren't bad. The staff were all quite helpful as well, despite speaking limited English. I will definitely avoid hotels and look for a B&B if I visit Lake Akan again.
