  Check in was terrible. Arrived at 12am and told my card had declined so apparently cancelled booking. and no rooms available i had pre booked months in advance. i had emailed 3 days before and called the day before also. 30 minutes of trying to work out what to do and they magically had a room available. Room was old and dirty. Noisy and dusty and the door hardly shut. Complex was very dirty. no idea what wifi was like as noone told me about it. don't know about restuarant either. no info no compendium anywhere.

  Won't bother returning

  We stayed here a few years ago and I dont think anything has been done to the place since then. We were in an upstairs room and could hear people talking for most of the night. Noisy, early rising neighbours were the icing on the cake.The bed was fine, the pillows flat and uncomfortable. Curtains had holes and lamps are well past their prime. The bricks in the carpark and around the garden have lifted and are a broken mess. Am amazed a business is able to get away with this as the area is dimly lit at night and a 'minefield' to negotiate. No expects a palace but it is obvious this place is falling into disrepair with little attention being paid to any of the problems.

  Good newly renovated room. Beware cash deposit required

  We are a couple with one 16yo child, visiting Melbourne for a function at the showground. Footscray Motor Inn is very well located, close to the showground and close to the Footscray shops. Although the outside of the building looks a bit dated and in need of a tidy up, the room was brand new renovated with king size bed and a single bed and new bathroom. Very nice room. Booked over the phone and had to pay with credit card over the phone. When we arrived, I was asked for a $200 cash deposit because the receptionist said that my credit Mastercard was an eftpos card and not a credit card. This is not true, since I get charged interest if I do not pay the credit card off by the end of the month. Anyway, just lucky that I had $200 cash and yes they gave it back when I left with no drama. So beware.

  Very Happy

  I was very happy staying here for 4nights while my partner was in the Footscray Hospital. Sean was very good to me as I didn't know from day to day how long I would be staying. I felt very safe there which is important to me as I'm getting older and need that security when staying by myself. The staff were terrific and so nice to have housekeeping every day. Fresh towels are great.

  Not happy

  Booked a room through Booking.com where it was supposed to be included spa bath and a terrace with city view. There are no rooms with terrace at all and this is the city view. I appreciate a lot the receptionist guy who helped me to find a solution.
