  We went on a cycle tour around kake Balaton.Stayed in different places,but this was the best.And cheap.Really lovely B and B in a beatiful old building.Service was helpful .Rooms are simple ,very clean ,bed are comfortable.I recommend it!

  This is not a 4 star hotel

  This is not a real 4 star hotel, dont expect too much. Everything is very simple, nothing nice or cute in there, so in general the mood is not so good there. They provide everything which is a minimum requirement to earn and keep the 4 stars but you just dont feel the hospitality. Low amount of staff, less then average quality of food in the restaurant, empty minibar in the room, dirty window sill so unkind atmosphere.

  Really nice and cozy place

  This hotel maybe doesnt deserve 4stars it has, but the atmosphere, staff, hospitality are really spot on. The part is 3minute wall from here. We liked it and enjoyed it here and if I will come to this Balaton area again I think we will stay in this hotel for sure.

  Hotel Fonix does not only not deserve 4 stars, but it is in fact not fit to receive paying guests in its current state!

  The property advertises itself as 4 stars, but in my opinion, based on my experience and those of our travelling companions, the propert was so bad that it does not even deserve 1 star. In fact, it should probably be shut down as unfit to receive guests. Our room was not cleaned, when we returned at the end of the day, the room and the bed were as we left it in the morning. The sheets were too small for the bed mattress, as a result of which we had to sleep on the mattress without any sheet covering it. The pillow had hardly any stuffing in it, hence it was like sleeping with no pillow at all. The bed was hard. We got no sleep at all in our rooms for the 3 nights of our stay. New towels were not provided at all, even if the towels were left on the floor as requested by the hotel, as they never came to clean the room. It was sweltering hot both outside and in the room as there was no air-conditioning provided. The room safe did not work in either of our rooms and in our room it was even loose in its securing to the substructure, making it easy for a thief to just walk away with it. Cold water was not provided free for breakfast and one had to pay for it. The property advertised half-board on booking.com and we reserved the rooms as such, but we never received half-board, only a very poor breakfast with no water, and still were made to pay the full reservation cost. When we asked to see the manager at the end to make a formal complaint, we were flatly told that he was not available. Under the circumstances, it was reasonable for us to conclude that the management was not interested in our feedback from its customers to enable it to improve its operations. All in all, Hotel Fonix in Balatonfoldvar is an accomodation with very very poor standards and in our opinion deserves a 0 star rating and is not fit for receiving guests in its current state.

  Nice hotel near charming lake

  This hotel is very close to the lake. We stayed here while visiting friends at Lake Balaton. The hotel also has a very pretty little pool and a decent breakfast in the morning. We did not have the dinner they offered. One of our rooms did not have air conditioning (which they did warn us about in advance) but we had a fan and luckily the nights were cooler this past week. It would have been nice if they had screens on the windows so it would be easier to leave windows open without bugs coming in. The other rooms we had did have air conditioning and was very comfortable. All in all a good place to stay while visiting this lovely lake in Hungary.
