  Chocolate tea a las 8.30 am

  No nos quedamos a dormir pero pasamos para ver la plantación. No había tour hasta las 11 pero dimos un pequeño paseo y tomamos agua y chocolate de té. La gente majisima y parece un lugar tranquilo. Precioso

  Simply stunning do not miss this place

  We managed a very last minute trip in late Dec to Sandals, which was great in light of Covid but not our usual style. But then we managed to extend our trip and opted for Ladera and Fond Doux so had a wonderful chance to see different sides. Something pulled me to book Fond Doux and it was the best decision. We stayed New Years Eve too. Thank you Jenny for organising things so last minute. Lynton and Eroline you should be do proud - you lead the most amazing team of people (thank you each and everyone of you) with passion and this place is beautiful, truly authentic and a reflection of your vision. Dont expect slick and perfectly polished but do expect something ever better and more beautiful, eco and authentic. Fantastic food (thanks for my lobster Chris) and cocktails (Alec). We stayed in a hillside pool cottage which was gorgeous. We also walked round the property and saw some of the other lovely cottages. Fond Doux - keep doing what you are doing and staying true to your values - you are amazing!

  A most authentic and wonderful place

  Owned and run by two prominent Lucians, Eroline and Linten, the plantation is made up of an amazing cluster of self contained wooden chalets individually named after the trees that are growing everywhere among the fantastic rainforest-like 200 year old chocolate plantation that has huge Avatar like flowers. We stayed in Banana. There was a great selection of food and the staff who served were very professional and always met you with a generous smile. Alex at the bar makes amazing cocktails, including the island staple rum punch which not only tastes great but blows your socks off! Well placed for a visit to the Sulfur Springs and the historic fishing town of Soufriere. I would definitely go back.

  A rainforest gem with wonderful hosts & staff. (Helpful tips at the end if the review)

  Spending the holidays at Fond Doux was an excellent decision. I arrived as a guest & left feeling like a family member & long time friend. The property was beautiful, clean & well maintained. Tropical fruit, foliage, flowers & hummingbirds could be seen everywhere. The cottages were cosy & the in room massage was lovely. Eventhough I was quarantined, I didn't feel trapped. Lynton & Eroline Lamontagne (the owners/hosts) were present, plesant & very hospitable. I enjoyed our lengthy conversations at breakfast & appreciate them making time to chat whenever our paths crossed on the property. The Amazing Staff working at Fond Doux was very accommodating & made my stay memorable. I had to switch from one cottage to another, due to technical difficulties beyond the property's control. All of my issues/concerns were immediately addressed/rectified. I appreciate the efforts of the team to make the seemless transition. Javanna was professional, always checking in & making sure everything was good. Shyne was another very professional staff member. Always helpful, smiling, willing to go above & beyond the call of duty while answering my many questions. Shyne was knowledgeable about the plantation & provided lots of information on the tour. His attention to detail left quite an impression. Chef Chris created culinary masterpieces that satisfied my refined palate & left me looking forward to my next meal. I appreciate the efforts he made to address my dietary needs. The added personal touch of having the Chef stop by my table to make sure I was satisfied with my meals was a bonus. Other noteworthy staff members were Jenny, Clinton, Lecia, Alex, Thomas & Marsha. I am definitely looking forward to returning in the near future. *A few helpful tips.* 1. If you are using Fond Doux airport transfer, I suggest paying the additional $20 for the upgrade to the luxury option. Tarius the driver was amazing & pointed out highlights along the way which made the drive seem shorter. 2. Try to do the plantation tour on your first day it will give you a greater appreciation of the property & experience. Shyne did an exceptional tour. I was told Clinton is great as well. 3. Most of the cottages aren't air-conditioned. However the fan was sufficient to keep me comfortable during the day. The temperature at night was cool, comfortable enough where a fan is not needed. 4. I enjoyed having the sounds of the rainforest serenade me at night. However the night sounds may take some getting used to for light sleepers. 5. The property is located approximately 10 minute drive from the beach & a shuttle is offered daily. 6. Remember to pack insect repellent. Relax, enjoy & remember that you are staying at an eco resort in the rainforest.

  Above and Beyond

  We booked this resort only a few weeks before arriving as we were unaware of the requirement for certified Covid properties and had booked a closed resort by mistake. I was particularly interested in this resort due to its symbiotic nature to the environment and was hopeful it would be very peaceful. We actually ended up having the entire resort to ourselves for the full week which led to remarkable attentiveness from all staff members. I was disappointed to learn upon arriving in st Lucia that we would not be able to do any land excursions or eat at any local restaurants due to new, stricter Covid regulations not advertised on the government website. I am a picky eater and was hopeful for Mahi Mahi during my stay. Unfortunately fond doux was unable to get this fish as they had already purchased blue marlin. Being the only ones at the resort, the food was more limited than the usual menu anyways and there was a day I was particularly frustrated about all the Covid restrictions especially upon my diet and ended up not eating lunch after being told they were out of burger meat. To make up for this, the chef Richard and other staff revamped the menu and even made me a dinner dish that I specifically asked for not on the menu. All of the staff went out of their way to ensure we were completely happy. Although we would have liked to have more company during our stay, they offered a free beach shuttle daily where we could snorkel and interact, the nature trail on property was a short hike to a view of one of the pitons, the triple pool had a library and obviously peace and quiet since we had it to ourselves, and we had a plunge pool right outside our cottage which offered more than enough room and no need for AC. The plunge pool was very cold but we found the larger pools warmed up on some days. We did meet the owners once each and both were very friendly and welcoming. As far as value for the price, at the end of the stay, it ended up being a very good deal for what it offered. I am used to all inclusive so the prices for food seemed high but having to import a lot of products, it made sense. All the resorts have high food prices on the island. We were especially grateful for everything Shynaya, Regina, and (Jennell?, one of our breakfast servers) did for us. Hopefully Covid will further diminish and yall will get back to your normal guest amount soon. Thanks for having us, and I apologize for my picky eater habit
