  acogedor y buen trato

  Hotel muy acogedor, situado a una media hora caminando del centro, pero cercano a una zona de pubs y restaurantes (unos 5 minutos caminando). Atención muy buena, habitación cómoda y muy limpia, a pesar de que la habitación numero uno es un poco ruidosa a primera hora de la noche, ya que esta justo en el principio de la escalera, durante la noche, ningún problema, cama muy confortable.Desayuno típico ingles, abundante y de gran calidad. Hotel 100% recomendable

  Todo lo que necesitas

  Hotel nuevo, situado en una calle donde todo lo de alrededor es parte del hotelito así que muy bien acompañado. El edificio es muy bonito y la zona también. Pedimos la habitación pequeña con ducha y pese a que pensábamos que iba a ser diminuta, ¡para nada! Era una habitación perfecta para dos, con un baño muy amplio y con mucha luz y ventanas tanto el baño como la habitación a la calle. El hotel muy tranquilo, nuestra habitación estaba en zona de paso pero no escuchamos ni un ruido. Y todo muy limpio. Está muy cerca del paseo de la playa, tienen un restaurante (un poco caro) propiedad del hotel, en la calle de al lado. Para ir al centro es un buen tramo caminando y en invierno, como es una ciudad sin mucha gente, no da mucha buena espina de noche, pero no hay problema. En la habitación había tetera y tés, leche... perfecto! El único pero es que cuando llegamos, directos para el check out a la hora que empezaba, no había nadie en recepción (y recepción estaba cerrada, solo se podía acceder con la tarjeta del hotel). Estuvimos esperando tanto nosotros como varias personas más, alrededor de 20 minutos a que llegaran, en la calle y con lluvia. Tocábamos al timbre y llamábamos y nadie abría. Tardaron un buen rato y no dieron explicaciones.

  Hotel OK - Parking a Problem

  It is difficult to rate hotels whilst Covid restrictions are in place and especially after a short stay. I would like to rate this hotel as "good", being somewhere between average and very good. The rooms we had were small, so it was necessary to move a chair to get to the wardrobe, but they were adequate for a short stay. This is a converted house, with numerous small steps to negotiate and some rooms leading off small half landings. Some guests might struggle with this. Car parking is a particular problem. The hotel has a few off-road spaces, but many guests have to park in the street, using the hotel's residents parking permits. Anyone who knows this area of Southsea and its parking problems will know that there is a real prospect of having to cruise around narrow streets for several minutes looking for a space and of only finding one some distance away. Of course, the hotel can do little about this, but it does detract from the overall experience - especially in the rain. The staff were generally very helpful and pleasant, particularly at breakfast. Breakfast itself was excellent - good quality produce which was well cooked.

  Little gem of a hotel

  This was our second stay at Florence house and both times were complete bliss. Super clean throughout, such comfortable beds, and tasteful decor. We had breakfast with this stay and both mornings were delicious. Staff are lovely and we couldnt fault anything at all. Cant wait to return once the latest lockdown is lifted.

  Room for improvement

  The rooms are lovely. A great location for the beach and for the great restaurants and pubs in Southsea and beyond. The receptionist was surly and clearly didnt like dogs. Telling us that there wasnt any dog friendly places in Portsmouth. We know that there are many as we have visited the area many times, that is why we brought our dogs this time. Id petted so many other peoples dogs during our last stays I regretted not bringing ours. The breakfast room was freezing cold. My husband had to go back to our room to get a jumper. Music was played very loudly in this area. So much so that it could be heard and felt in our room above from 7am. Breakfast was cold. The eggs overdone and anaemic. We had paid for breakfast for both mornings but chose to eat elsewhere the second morning to avoid the experience again. When we complained about the noise the same surly receptionist talked over me whilst I was trying to explain the issue. Then glared at me when I told her I was talking. They did move us to a quiet room which is what we had asked for when booking and this was much better as far as noise levels were concerned. The night manager was brilliant. So calming, helpful and caring. The receptionist could learn a lot from this man.
