  Far away from city.

  Though we had previously done some research on its location, we were kind of shocked that the location is really quite a distance from what we expected. The main stations for this hotel in Ekoda are Shin-ekota (oedo line) about 8-10 mins walking distance and Ekoda station (Seibu Ikebukuro line) about 5-6 mins walking distance. To be honest, both lines are not too convenient if you want to cover the main attractions in Tokyo (except for Ikebukuro and Shinjuku) and you will end up spending a lot more in transportation fares. Though this hotel looks decent, the location is quite right as there is many students nearby, but it is not so convenient for tourists like us who would like to explore tokyo city. We spent like more than 1 hour plus to reach Asakusa (thanks to the transit of line from Ekoda station to other stations (dont forget you have to count in the time when you are lost of direction and ask around) To be fair to the hotel, facilities are not bad, clean and sufficient. but no room cleaning service is provided and there is additional charge if you need it. Overall is ok, just that its location.

  Negatives: Dirty. There is mildew in the bathroom, and the one hook in the bathroom to hang towels etc is completely useless because it is super rusty. Some random stains can be found on the walls too. The toilet paper holder is super dusty. And Our faucet is leaking sometimes. There is no daily housekeeping service + change of towels and sheets (unless you pay extra). Positives: Good location such that it is next to a convenience store (Lawson), and there is a lot restaurants and train stations within the vicinity. Wifi speed is also ok (though you have to do the guest log in often). It does have a kitchenette, which includes a microwave. Partly regretting our decision to stay here but we booked it for a week already. Could've gone to a better place for a comparable price. Will never stay here again.

  A simple, cheap, no frills hotel.

  For Tokyo, any hotel cheaper than 15,000 yen per night is a deal. They are out there but hard to find if your Japanese isn't functional. The Flexstay Inn Ekoda has English speaking staff and information, and is three stops up the Seibu Ikebukuro line from Ikebukuro station. From Ekoda station it's about a five minute walk. The hotel check in ends in the evening, so best to get there during the daytime hours. The room is simple business hotel style. It is quiet. There is no breakfast and no room cleaning. You exchange your towels at the front desk. In that sense, it's like a Candlewood Suites or any long-stay hotel. My single is not large, but not uncomfortable. One happy point was that each room has a multi-charger for charging your device(s). In Japan, the problem is usually the unit bath. If you are a big guy or girl, the shower space is a tight squeeze. The shower power itself was good. For about 7,000 yen per night I try not to complain. I had an event nearby, and this hotel was the obvious choice. Plenty of food options outside the hotel as well.

  Super affordable absolutely no frills

  You stay here because it is affordable. While perhaps not best for firs time visitors great if you are on a budget. Simple, clean no frills (at all) room. Self serve laundry. Good free WiFi. Close to Seibu Ekoda station (connects to Ikebukuro). Nice student neighborhood. Lots of good affordable restaurants.

  God and efficient hotel

  Flexstay Inn at Ekoda is a well located hotel near Ekoda railway station and in an area full of restaurants and food shops. The hotel is well equipped and efficient. Rooms not very big, but OK. Staff is friendly and helpful.
