Fairly high-end hotelThe hotel is modern and hip, rooms are furnished with high quality decors. Location center to the city, 5 minutes walk to the Big City shopping mall. The breakfast buffet offers good variety to choose from, whether Chinese style congee breakfast, or toasts and fruits and yogurt. In room TV has free new release movies to watch and many cable TV channels. Room size fairly spacious, very comfortable bed. Marble bathroom with ToTo automatic toilet, Clarin's toiletries. The downsides for me are the dampness smell of the hotel, the down pillows too soft to sleep on and the bleach and/or down feather smell from the pillows and the comforter, not pleasant to my sensitive nose. Overall, very pleasant stay and very pleased with the service and courtesy of hotel staff. Great hotel, would definitely consider again.

A very angry and disappointing stay~~We chose to stay at Fleur Lis Hotel for its great location and ranking at Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, it's a huge disappointment and TORTURE. My husband bathed our older kid (a 3 year-old) that night without noticing the strange color of the water. He thought that's the color of the soap. Until I went in to bath our baby girl (a 9 month old), I let the water flow into the baby bath tub, I shockingly found out the water is all yellowish! YUCK~~how come the water is so yellowish? With the septic tank-like smell filled all over the hallway and elevator, I can't help relating the disgusting smell with the yellowish water in my bathroom, is the water contaminated by the septic tank? No one at the hotel gave us a clear answer, but they did admit that they were fixing something in the basement. After I called the front desk to fix the problem, they couldn't offer any better solution but gave us a card key to another room at 7th floor (we stayed at the 6th floor). So we had to bring our kids up to another room to shower/RE-SHOWER (for our older kid). After all the waiting and testing, It was already midnight. We all wore home clothes and brought bags walking up to just get clean water for shower! Someone down the hallway saw us and gave us a look that why this family is so strange?! I felt so embarrassed at that moment even it's not our fault. The next morning, we couldn't get up early to have a relaxing bft cuz we were very exhausted. No one from the hotel said anything to us even they knew what happened to us last night. (I mean, you could have asked us as a courtesy if you need us to pack you a sandwich if you didn't have time to eat at our restaurant.) All they did is to give us a call at 11:45 to remind us the check-out time is 12:00. When we checked out, they only said they were sorry and wanted to give us a bag of gift to show they're sorry. But, does any of the staff at the hotel really know the frustration of not having clean water to bath the kids and wash milk bottles at night? (BTW, they offer a bottle sterilizer to use but with NO any directions of how to use it. So the night shift staff had to search YouTube to see if there's any video of showing how to use this sterilizer) We can't sense their genuine sorry and obviously the staff lacks of training so they can't offer better solution. By the time we were about to leave, there's no manager or high position staff to come out to apologize. Of course, I didn't accept their GIFT. With the torture and the severe headache due to the previous night, their apology or gift is no way we can feel better. In my opinion, they've already ruined our vacation, they should've compensated us. Why I need to pay to receive the inconvenience and torture at the late night??

You can find much better options in Hsinchu. We recently stayed 7 nights. The room was comfortable but showed signs of wear and tear and poor maintenance e.g., the chair and ottoman had puncture holes/scrapes, walls have scrapes through the wallpaper to concrete, shower door plastic guard had extensive mold build up as did the metal brackets. The daily maid service did not include vacuuming and should have. The sheer drapes are in need of repair/refurbishing. Lamp shades need cleaning or replacing. The carpets in the elevator lobby were simply filthy on both the lobby level and 2nd floor. We brought this to the front desk staff's attending and they sent someone to vacuum it--both carpets either a deep cleaning or replacement. We had the family over for dinner at the restaurant on the 5th floor and were very disappointed by the lack of service--very understaffed and inattentive. The food was good but not exceptional. The gym is very small, 5 machines and on one morning there were no towels. We had to wait twice for the garage parking attendant to return to his post so that we could get out of the parking garage. So far this has been our least favorite hotel in Taiwan and we will not be back.
