  Time warp rooms...

  Booked a single and a double for 3 nights B&B for a short trip to visit our son bringing his grandad, my 80 year old father in law. Last year we'd stayed in another Fletcher which was great but a little further away. This has to be the ugliest hotel room I have ever stayed in total refurb required like yesterday! 1970s bad porn movie comes to mind; vile bathroom colour (mustard/poo colour circa 1970!) and the drains stank! Water pressure was ok though so showering with my eyes closed was fine! Carpets need to be burnt! Sooooo glad I took some travel slippers! Bare brick walls made the room so dark and dingy; beds were too soft and very low although bedding was clean. Need black out curtains and the 'nets' need to go the same way as the carpets! We had a sort of walk in wardrobe affair but there were no drawers and only one bedside cabinet. Room 10 is just plain nasty! Room 22 was a single for the FIL and wasn't any better decor wise. It overlooked the outside seating of the hotel and was very noisy when the staff dragged all the tables & chairs in for the night - also woke him up dragging them back out again. Single bed was tiny and the room reminded me of a cell! All that said - the staff were all lovely; quite laid back and welcoming. The breakfast is very nice too with a great selection. However, the hotel does have ideas above it's station with a very large 'posh' dining room which no one used and the dinner menu is very expensive at 18 for a burger even though it was quite tasty. We ate elsewhere after the first night. Drinks too are pricey. Come on Fletcher - get this place refurbished and give the great staff a workplace to be proud of! We'll be back at a Fletcher but it most certainly won't be this one!

  Adequate and value for money

  Nice and reasonably priced hotel, excellent staff, friendly and helpful. Room are good and very clean. Mattress a bit soft for my taste and bathroom on the tiny side, but it has all you need. Breakfast buffet is good and being replenished all the time. Parking can be off site if the hotel is busy.

  Decent Hotel; Poor Staff

  My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was adequate, clean, but very dated. Our main problem was the staff. Upon arrival we were quoted by the desk clerk that the fixed price menu in the restaurant was 19.50 euros. We decided to dine in the restaurant, and he ended up being our waiter. We reconfirmed the price .. in Dutch .. we speak Dutch .. and ordered the menu. It was nothing fancy, or memorable, but we thought worth maybe 19.50. However, upon checkout, we found out it was 29.50. They refused to honor the price we were given verbally. Upon contacting the Fletcher Hotel Help, we were referred back to the same hotel with the same result. We will NEVER stay there again.

  Band Stay

  Stayed here while doing a show in Drachten... Nice location on a canal in the small town center... Small rooms, but cozy, with a pretty terrible shower cubicle that has no door..! Reception was cool but the rooms a little dated. Still, a decent stay.

  Perfectly situated

  This hotel is in a great location. The downstairs areas are modern but the bedroom we were in is in need of an update. It was perfectly clean and comfortable but very dated. The smell of the drains were a problem while we were there, but it was very hot. Air conditioning is also needed. The selection of food on Saturday and Sunday wasnt great and we had to ask for several things to be topped up but on Monday morning the selection and the service was a lot better. The receptionist who checked us in didnt seem to be very clued up on the area and wasnt able to help us very much.
